Korea Fact! When you have food delivered, they deliver it in fairly nice bowls and plates. Once your done eating, you leave the bowls and utensils outside your front door, and later someone from that restaurant comes around and collects them. (At least that's how it was when I was there a decade ago and in the city I was in.)

@@vincentcho9990 Most of chinese restaurant in korea did in couple years ago because they used to have their own delivery man. but since restaurant outsourcing delivery service to agencies like 'uber eats' recently you might not seen that happens.

Totally agreed... But ya know Steven, Andrew, and Adam most likely getting aren't getting paid all that much for these. Buzzfeed is supposedly pretty stingy when it comes to paying their creators and it owns the show and concept. Hence all the "why I left Buzzfeed" videos. (Though, as far as jobs go it's a pretty good one, being paid to eat good food)

I'm a huge fan of David Chang and I love the "big-brother" vibe he gives off to my favorite Worth It boyz!! Being an American-national and an ethnically-anything else is such a silent yet poignant experience. On the negative side, we never "fit in" but on the positive side we have the ability to relate to all spectrums of people. Love to see it ❤❤

I'd like to chime in and say I greatly appreciate that the most expensive item here didn't have caviar, truffles or gold. It gets very stale to see the same ingredients again and again, so the variety was very much welcome, thank you!

Exactly! I'm far more interested in how many different things they can do with the base food to compliment or bring out its own inherent quality than I am about how expensive the ingredients are they can slap on it. Edible gold is especially boring for me, since it has no nutritional value and doesn't even have its own flavor (you can only taste what your saliva can dissolve and saliva can't dissolve edible gold, therefore any flavor from the gold is actually from whatever else may have been put on it). It literally is used solely as a novelty decoration.

definitely... but maybe because they are in Korea, the high cost items vary greatly, but in western countries, they usually seem to contain 'foam, an unseasoned vegetable, truffle, caviar, arugula, kale, or gold', and a chef who wants to "go back to his roots with the natural flavour" lol

I really don't know where David heard this because every battle the Turtle Ship was used the Japanese were utterly crushed. Lol even without it, the Admiral Yi Sun Shin (who never lost a battle or ship) crushed a Japanese fleet around 350 with 12 ships. Thousands of so-called of glorious samurai were crushed by a 12 ships lol.

I'm from Australia, our only national cuisine is fairy bread and Vegemite. Everything else was invented by someone else. FYI Outback Steakhouse is an entirely American concept.

The amount of successful chefs that I know personally speak this way. You adapt to they way they speak, they are very expressive and they are very kind hearted people. I love David. Its refreshing to see someone be authentically himself on YT and not sugar coat the way he speaks. Would love to meet David one day and eat his food haha

This, The Try Guys and BuzzFeed Unsolved are the only reasons I'm still subbed. BuzzFeed has done a lot of extreme left videos that has ruined the name for me. Boldy (BuzzFeed Yellow) is just on another level of fucked up. Buzzfeed sure loves hating on white people and men, even more so for white men these days.

I really love whoever that did the Korean translation for this video, because the high-end chef's explanation about Hanwoo and its style of cut absolutely explained so poorly that reading the translation of his rambling was much easier to understand and satisfying. Good job, guys.

Korea Fact! Korea is a very mountainous country, so beef and cheese are VERY expensive there. A single Land-o-Lakes cheese brick was $13 American when I was there about a decade ago.

I loved family style meals when I was in Korea like this. Where they give you a dozen sides and then you cook your meat at the table. I'm a crazy picky eater, and my friend was a vegetarian. So she'd eat all the weird vegetable sides, and I'd eat the meat. It was a great experience. And things really do look like that in a lot of Korean restaurants. And call buttons on the tables. And how they eat with wrapping meat and rice in leaves. And Yeogiyo--that's one of the very few Korean words I learned.
