Yay another video I'm so excited to watch it which I haven't started it yet LOL I keep trying to be the first one that comments so I can get my comment below the video when you're watching the video if you know what I mean but as soon as it tells me that you posted a video and I go to watch it and comment it's always already a few comments on there cuz I think my phone is a little slow and it doesn't come through immediately when it lets me know that you posted a video! I'm getting a new phone soon hopefully! Jodie…I really love this. I’m a negative space fan so this speaks to me. Your color palette is a beautiful combo. What I liked seeing you do is go under the lacing/cells with your palette knife and pulling them outward. I’ll have to give that a try!

Hey Naomi I watch on TV too it’s a shame you can’t comment without going on to another device. But it’s so worth it to chat with Jodi she is so giving of her time, talent AND advice. Wow, Wow! Just beautiful! The shimmer is fabulous! I guess I need to try to get some of that Australian Floetrol!😂

Definitely invest in Aussie floetrol it makes a major difference in the cells and lacing that American floetrol just don't get due to the fact that Aussie floetrol is a paint and stain conditioner while American floetrol is only a paint conditioner so if you are going to use American floetrol Jodie has a great recipe in one of her videos that helps it react much like Aussie floetrol does!!

Thank you so much Karen! The Aussie stuff is magic but I have made some really amazing swipes using the US floetrol with the Minwax Prestain conditioner as well. The cells can get a bit more bubbly with that mixture. 😃🤗💜

Elegant Graceful and simply lovely. The color shifts are perfect for this design. I love it. I find it soothing and compelling like ancient Japanese Ink. And.......I was thinking the Tatoo world ( if not already) simply must create paint for skin with these color shifts and soft metallics. With AI taking over so many implant devices like implanted bracelets with stored data in gold, silver both above and below skin just seem inevitable. Just thinking...you would be a perfect Progressive Spokesperson for pitching it to paint developers and forward. Well I wait daily for your creations and I think you're wonderful.

Jody it's like you make it safe and ok to play with paint and simply let it take us down paths we'd never think to go watching how the movement of color opens us up blowing our minds to see what we all can create.

I love this and found these types of swipes which leave a lot of negative space to be so awesome! The scarab beetle color seems to be very similar to PearlEX pigments color called Mink.

Wow. I would never have used these colors together and yet this piece is beautiful!! I love your embellishments and stretching too 🤎🤍🖤 Damn dust! 🤨. Good tips. I live in AZ and I can’t resin anything over the summer because with my A/C on the dust just floats around constantly. 🤬. So I feel I pain.

Thanks so much Kim! 😃 Sometimes I know I want to try a color or the shimmer effect and just start throwing other colors in to “try” out haha! This was a good try I’m really liking this combo but you’re right it’s not one that may naturally go together. I feel your pain about dust in the air and resining. I’m having that same issue right now as I had to turn the heat on and the furnace is in my studio 😑. Needless to say I now have a lot more extra steps to resin as it’s the only place I can resin, it’s going to be a long winter haha!! 😂🤗💜

Oh I just love this color combo it's absolutely stunning!! I would love to use those colors on a colored pillow something dark maybe paynes grey or even silver idk I just love these colors together!! It came out beautifully I'm sorry you got dust on it but on camera it's not visible I'm sure its fine I know every time I make a mistake it pops out to me like a sore thumb but noone else sees the oopsie except me lol it happens but as always great work I just love this piece!!

Jodie, I love it as well. While you were spinning I was thinking to myself " wait - did she use Golden Peach?" Is that coloring from Scarab Beetle? It's gorgeous!

The first two swipes looked like 2 snakes. You are fearless using those colours! I see so many muddy results. But yours was excellenly defined. Shame we can't get the products you use in the UK. The names are often different so its hard to find alternatives.

They did look like snakes didn’t they! I love throwing colors together to see what happens, I’m finding the thicker my paints are the less mud 🤗. I agree I wish you could get the same products everywhere. 💜

That is beautiful. What is the different effect putting paint on pallet knife first compared to putting paint on canvas?

Thank you Carol! I always feel like I have better control with the colors putting everything on the palette knife and swiping. I’m still experimenting a lot with it but I feel like when I put the paint on the canvas first I can’t control as much where the color goes or where I want it to go as when it’s on the knife, does that make sense? 💜

Oh wow I can’t wait to try this! Thank you for sharing! I was watching an older video of yours with the USA Floetrol mixed 9:1 paint for CA. Do you ever still use that recipe? Why or why not? I don’t want to pay the big cost for Aussie Floetrol to try for reliable CA.

Totally give it a go and have fun with it! I do still use the US floetrol recipes both the 9:1 and then the one adding the Minwax wood stain. I like the cells it gives me. Did you see that showdown video? I think I did a couple one with blooms and one with swipes. I usually have a lot of Aussie Floetrol mixed up so gravitate towards it but I love how the US Floetrol cell activators respond also. If the higher ratio one gives you any trouble as it can be finicky I know some have added a few drops of the Minwax Prestain and it worked out well for them. See which one you like better and which one responds better to the paints you are using. 🤗💜

Thank you so much! I just practiced the 9:1 usa Floetrol on a tile and I’ll see how it dries. It wasn’t super cell-ish but I’m waiting to judge it. I’ll try the Minwax too. 👍

Thank you so much! Hmmm how are your paint consistencies and the gloss factor (varnish/untinted base paint)? Usually if a pillow is eating your paints they are sinking down into the pillow instead of floating on the top.

@@anniesshenanigans3815 Too much pillow can be a thing, but usually it involves cracking as I just found out recently :/, I suppose it could also depend on what you are using for your pillow as all house paints aren't made the same. Some satin ones can really seep in and act like a satin enamel I've seen especially if your paints are on the thinner side.

That’s a tough one, the scarab beetle in one direction looks almost brownish and in another looks green.

Hi Teri, the main knife I used, the bigger one that’s #34 from Dick Blick, it’s their brand. The smaller knives were just from a 5 set on Amazon, it’s in my storefront if you want to see the 5 you get and then the white plastic one was from the dollar tree 🤗💜
