15 Minute Strength Training Workout for Seniors & Beginners // Osteoporosis Friendly

Thank you for joining me for this quick full body strength training workout. After a short warm up we will perform compound exercises for 45 seconds, then rest for 15 seconds. There is a timer for each exercise so you are able to go at your own pace.
All exercises in this strength building workout are osteoporosis friendly. There are no moves that involve twisting the spine or rounding the spine. Let's build some strong bones!
I'm using 5 pound weights in this workout. Please use whatever weights you have and are comfortable with. If you have light dumbbells you may go faster than me. Or if you are using heavier dumbbells you may go slower than me.

Lauren, I love ALL your exercises, but this one (osteoporosis friendly) was quite a surprise! It worked me out, and I don't normally sweat, and in addition, I FELT the benefits this morning, so I came back for a repeat. I love your tone and how you speak to us respectfully. What a great workout that I have wanted for quite some time, however it’s been hard to find, as you have the right program also just perfect in every way from beginning to end covering all necessary body parts. So glad I found this! I have scoliosis, osteoporosis, a spinal fusion (9 vertebrae) and just had a knee replacement in July. I'm not very flexible right now, so I've been looking for the right program for me. Due to the scoliosis, it's hard for me to do some of the moves, but I love that it isn't rushed or the music isn't booming in the background. I really believe this is something I can stay with.

I had just 15 minutes for strength training today--I didn't think it would be enough time until I found this class. Thanks to the compound move combos you created I was able to pack a wonderful upper and lower body strength training into my limited time. I'm so thankful. Loved this one! There were moves I had not done before, and I've done countless workouts. I really liked how much time was taken to do the stretches at the end, too. Oftentimes, that part is too rushed through.

Yes I love how Lauren takes time for the warm up and cool down. I was following another trainer but got tired of her saying be sure to get extra stretching on your own. I need the stretching not bonus moves and she screamed.

Hi Lauren I had planned to start this work out a couple of weeks ago but got a bronchial infection and had to stop all of my exercises. But I was finally able to start back today and I loved this video! Had some difficulty with the lunge but modified the best I could and will keep working on it. I’ll be 74 in August and really need some strength training that’s designed for seniors.Thank you so much❣️

Hi Lauren my leg is doing as much spasm when I stand up so I am considering rewinding this twice for 30 minutes tomorrow depending how my leg feels I ended up testing positive for Covid last Tuesday after not being sick in 3 years. My husband had a cold and drank out of my water bottle but he tested negative on Wednesday so I think I was exposed at one of the 2 urgent care centers. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.

I am enjoying your video for the first time and I see room for improvement with my strength and form. I am now 76 years old, used to do yoga, a lot of street bike riding, cross country, and other cardio. I have an 26 year old knee replacement and five months ago after a fall a broken twice shoulder and partial hip replacement, that a lot of metal :). I am glad I can start to get more strength training. My form isn't there but I am hopeful that I will improve. I am so glad I came across your videos. I am gentle with myself since especially on the mat my legs are not as straight as yours upwards and doing the 4 looks more like a question mark, just kidding. As I said lots of room for improvement.

Just diagnosed with osteoporosis in my femoral neck. So grateful for your workout that is meant for folks with osteoporosis. It's kind of confusing trying to figure out what exercises are safe to do. Thank you for sharing!

Thankyou as always - been in hospital , at this stage waiting for stitches on various parts of my body the 24th of this month to be taken out - nothing doing for a week now - so a slow pace to see how I go ..doing ok … will try another light upper body tomorrow 🙏

Really good. Felt alot of work in my core. Getting better with protecting knee by using my heals. Protect my right upper arm that has a torn muscle. keep movements below shoulder. Now I'm going to do a cardio

I've moved into a block of units where there was alot of low vibrational people with big ego's and wanting to control the complex. It's been a year and so much has changed, i put a crystal in my letter box , i smudge alot and i know i was put here to stop a few old people thinking they run the show. 4 people have left, more will leave next year, i just know alot more will change. Im levelling up so much now I've let go of toxic people and im on mission now.

Really good exercise, thank you - I kept on thinking how suitable this one is for gardening fitness, which I need. Knee bends and strengthening for all those lifting and crouching jobs. The thing I still quite awkward is getting up from floor level, so this workout should help. I’ll do it again! And again. Thanks Lauren.

I really enjoy your videos and as a person with osteoporosis am always looking for osteoporosis friendly videos. I did need to modify the exercises with weights over head and out in front since I have been told this is not best for people with osteoporosis. I was able to use exercises from your other videos to substitute for these exercises or put down my weights for these exercises. Thanks so much.
