I've heard that dog in a way can reflect their owner. Now I'm not speaking for every dog or person but it's understandable

They need a good balanced trainer (not a positive only trainer) that would put an end to this in minutes. Enough of the dog's BS. It amazes me that they drag this out into an episode. This is SO simple for a balanced dog trainer to resolve and VERY VERY quickly.

Let’s be clear here, OK? The wife was straight up NO to another dog. Nonetheless, the Dude doesn’t respect her NO and under the ridiculous story of “wanting my family to be happy” (para) he dismissed her input completely for what HE wanted. *This was such an overt behavioral disrespect towards her and his feeble attempt at pretending he WANTED what was “best for his family” is a transparent farce.* Mute the sound: Watch the behavior. Notice who is doing most of the work: The wife. I’d keep the dog who can be trained and send Dude to the animal shelter.

They let their dogs drink out of the toilet. If that does not say love, then I do not know what does. 🤣

It's for TV, what did you expect. All TV programs start out bad and then suddenly! everyone conforms. Hoarders is one great example of this.

@@manifestingcocreator3221 I'm so sorry for your loss. As well as my dog I have a hamster. She's almost 2 and I know she doesn't have too much longer left (she's healthy and lively but probably won't live for more than a year being a hamster). Any any pet is hard to lose

@@katiesimpson8517 thanks :) and I'm sorry for your loss. It takes a long time to recover losing them. I love the dog I have now to bits, it's just not the same. My mum has many dogs and tells me, that although she loved them, it would never feel the same as when she had her first dog

Great Danes need 4+ hours walk daily. Ours got walks half hour to school and back and again on pickup and before bed and in the day. They can go 8 hours with out the loo remember when we’re asleep but they shouldn’t be left for any longer. It’s good to get a Walker to take them atleast once while your at work

@X Dr don’t get a Great Dane then. There’s alternatives. Like playing in a yard or letting them swim. But regardless what do you expect…. It’s a very high energy dog ☠️

@@avenger8399 My Dane is good for 8 hours but that is at night when we are home with him. You have to get in tune with his poop times.

I suspect that her fair, kind, direct, and assertive character, as well as how she tends to express herself clearly/explicitly are a major component to her success with dogs too 🙂

The dogs were ‘made’ to drink from the loo! No thought or regard for inflicting the nasty toxins (to put it mildly) from the many humans evacuating into it…and all through Covid. Don’t tell me you love the dogs when that’s how you treat them.

All that guy was thinking of was self promotion…he was controlling his family via the dog. The quieter dog has been completely sidelined as she had lost her position when the guy got his new ‘bargaining’ tool.His change of attitude was a complete put on….seen it a thousand times.

Just remember, positive reward isn't only treats. Positive reward can be verbal, physical or toy reward. This episode is awesome!

Not to mention, no matter how comfortable I am with dogs (and I've lived around them my entire life), if a dog snaps at you the way Harley snapped at people because of the bed, I would be backing away and finding someone to help with that immediately. Because that's such a dangerous position to be in, and the dog is warning you that this is HIS bed, regardless of whether YOU think that's the case or not.

Don't forget if you're in the UK Victoria is looking for new people and dogs for the next series. Covid lockdown caused so much long term problems for so many, human and animal 🙁

I got my large dog to give me my bed back by getting him a better bed. Big Barker. It was expensive but so worth it

Just remember that that it is never too late to train ^.^ Even if you walk your dog, a simple sit for a greeting on the street with neighbours wearing a mask is still a sit to greet someone. Don't give up on training : ) Dogs or are more capable to learn and adapt to situations than even people are ! Good luck with training : )

Dogs need to feel safe, if their humans don't act like they are in control, they don't feel safe. The dogs don't feel safe, so they need to try to be in control. This leads to problems, you can love your animal without being weak. Discipline is not cruel it is part of being a good pet parent. I've had both dogs and cats, and people are always amazed that my cats listen to me, but an animal responds to you when they know it is in their best interest.

She might be the only and the only good one between the positive reinforcing trainers around. At least she makes it clear, no dog on the bed. The others i met say it's no big deal if the dog does that, steals your food, and they don't take you seriousely when you speak of dog aggression in the house.

I treat my dog as a fur kid but he is also treated like dog in most aspects.

My friend, NO, he did not “learn” and only “changed his ways” under duress called the camera. He’s a bully hiding under his alleged “good intentions.” Oh BS, dude. You did what you wanted to do, not what was best for your family or the animal. SHAME ON YOU.

Ah, the only one he was concerned with “making happy” was HIM. Not his wife. Not the young adult child. He knows how-wife told him very clearly NO, she did not want another dog. He ran right over her NO and did what *he wanted, not what she needed.* He hasn’t changed a damn thing except his tactics. This transparent excuse is nauseating and he should be called out on his manipulative, selfish behavior.

No, he's selfish. His wife told him explicitly that she wasn't ready for another dog and he went behind her back. She should have taken Harley back to the rescue and explained the situation.

If he genuinely believes that he didn’t know how even after his wife was very explicit with him and even told him exactly what to do and what not to do, I’m not sure what his problem is.

Every dog can bite. I can't stand the people who always find excuses for their jumpy, nippy, rough dogs. I can't stand when they say "oh, he's a dog, he's only expressing him self".

It's nice to see someone else not crapping on him. Harley shouldn't be growling and stealing food, but he also shouldn't be vilified just because he wants something he didn't get earlier in life. He spent the majority of his life chained up outside on a cement patio, of course he's gonna wanna hog a nice soft bed. The only problem was they let him sleep on their bed while at the same time trying to move him, thereby giving mixed messages instead of letting him have his own bed all to himself.

This is exactly how my male roommate is with MY DOG.. he's completely usurped control and with the dog and now sleeps in his bed, and is aggressive towards me now when I try and pet or discipline him, and my roommate has no regard for the training I'm desperately trying to train him with, but blames everything on me.. I feel like I've lost my dog, and I cry myself to sleep many nights.. I want to give up and just leave him with my roommate since he's taken to him anyways.. Ironically my puppy's name is Harley too 😍.. I love him and went thru so much to get him, but I feel it was all for nothing bc he hates me now, and I'm not getting the support I need to turn him around.. I don't know what to do and need help..

​​@@DivaDivine88 do you need to have a roommate ? Are you financially reliant on having a roommate or can you afford to live alone ? (I am not asking you to tell me about your finances, I am posing questions for you to consider ) If you are not, then I would suggest giving your roommate notice to leave or if you have moved in with them , then are you able to find your own place . If so that's the only way this will end . However if you are financially reliant on needing a roommate then have you actually sat down and laid it out to your roommate. That Harley is your dog and you would appreciate that he doesn't undermine you regards the dog , you can even suggest that he helps with the training but on your terms. If Harley is your dog you need to take charge of the situation, you need to tell your roommate exactly how you feel regards this matter. As I said by all means your roommate can help with the training BUT on YOUR terms not theirs, it's the only way to resolve it. I hope you manage to get the issue resolved so you can enjoy your dog.

If they're at work all day they should put a doggy door for them to go outside to poop.
