They won’t go far as I want to try them on bigger canvas.. I have a 16” round staring at me that would be awesome for it 😃. I love how in some spots the cell activator mixed with the pinkish color and made a light pink cell activator! It looks really cool!!

I agree I love when the cell activator does that. I need to have it thin enough so it’ll take on the color but thick enough that it won’t warp the cells so when it happens like that it looks so cool 😃😃💜💜

Just found you on IG, I have been doing fluid art for 2 years now and this is by far my most favorite version i have ever seen. What I love about this, is you can work deeper with the paint than just throwing colors and blowing it out and it looking the same as everyone elses. This can become very personal, very individual to the person working the paint. Thank you for this inspirational method!!! I legit have been thinking how can make pour painting more ME! I might just have to play with this and see what comes through. Thank you. 😊

I love when you do several swipes with the little stick in one area like you did on the little orange part, I think it looks really cool especially once you spin it out!

Another beauty, Jodie. You don't have to stop doing these floating blooms because I enjoy seeing them, and I think most viewers do. I intend doing 2 of them in magenta on a black background on 12 by 12, but a 6 inch tile is as big as I've done on blooms so it might take a few attempts.

That is SO cool! In fact, the second LP that I ever bought was "Band On The Run!" I still remember riding my bicycle to the store to buy it! And realizing that old vinyl can often become unplayable, I find in honorable to sacrifice them to fluid art! I must admit that I take fiendish delight in sacrificing an old Jimmy Swaggart LP, or anything from that genre!

keep it up. CDs are way smaller, but I think I'll try for practice, since that's all I'm really doing, and they're FREE. Nothing is free, and very little is cheap, so get what you can when you can. glad I didn't know how expensive this would end up being or I wouldn't have started. Too late now:), (I'm an international follower, so almost nothing is locally available). Love to see you working. Have a good day.

I started on CDs and tiles and little 4x6 panels. They are all great to start with 😃. Fluid Art in general is not cheap by any means if you’re anything like me and have to have and try everything haha! But it’s worth it, it can be great therapy and also very rewarding 🤗💜

@@ThePaintedDreamer I know you started on cd's etc. I forgot about them until that post about the lables showing and thought of the hundreds of cds waiting for decorating. I have to have everything I can at this point. I am restraining myself until I can actually produce something that warrants the cost of Aussie Floe. It'll cost me about $100 US for a liter. I just paid ONLY $40US for a can of minwax pre stain condtioner. I think I saw it for $10 in US. but if it works I'll be happy for a while.

@@userMarinainCol Yea once you get more comfortable with all your paints and ingredients that's a good idea then to try the australian floetrol. As long as you have the minwax for your other floetrol it should work out ok until you get a handle on all your paints. But most importantly, have fun!! :)

Another rock star moment for you! Everything about this is gorgeous! I would love to see them all together. I had another night of pouring misery. I’m using the same mix as you for my PM, but no matter how thick/thin I have my colors, that white pillow paint always takes over. Does this happen because of the silicone I add to my colors? Your colors always look so thick compared to mine. I’m adding my PM till I like the consistency. Mostly 1:2 or 3… not sure if I add too much that it can cause problems too. But my brain is about to 🤯 Thank you for sharing your crazy awesome talent! ❤️

You’re so welcome Greta, thank YOU! I’m sorry to hear about your night with your pours, I have definitely been there myself! My pillow doesn’t ever take over no but you mention you are using silicone so it may have something to do with it. I don’t use silicone so I can’t say for sure but it could be a possibility. Or it could be the pillow itself, some brands just seem to work better than others. What brand paint are you using for your pillow?

Hi Marci 🤗 For this piece the cell activator used was Australian floetrol & Amsterdam Titanium White. Incidentally, everything used in my videos I go through at the beginning when I’m talking about the piece I’ll be doing, I also have it depicted in pictures at the end of the video as well as listed in the description box below the video if you are ever looking for something used in my videos. 💜

Quick question before I open it, can you use a base 1 white as your pillow??

That’s what you use for pillow is the base 1 white, that’s what all my pillows are. We’re you using something else before? 😊

@@ThePaintedDreamer actually yes it didn't say base 1 on it, it just said white and I went and looked at the snap shot of yours and it says pure white from what I could tell it was pretty hard to see cuz of the paint on it but I didn't see base 1 on yours and that worried me...

@@cwv-artistry However I have used a lower base (base 3) and tinted it myself when I wanted a different color pillow and it seemed to work pretty good but yes the white I use is the base 1 pure white in the Glidden. Whatever brand you use it should be the first number (or letter) in the series.

@@ThePaintedDreamer awesome okay I'm glad I got the right thing, I ordered it and had it delivered this time instead of going to home Depot and when I saw it said base 1 it took me back to the color place paint I had used as a pillow that NEVER worked right it ate up all my colors but yes this is the Glidden premium I'm using in eggshell so fingers crossed it works lol I had been using Glidden essentials in eggshell and liked it a lot but wanted to see the difference in the essentials and the premium

When you put it up close to show us after it was dry I seen a circle like you were talking about before if you don't spread the paint out the good and I've never seen that before on yours, I wonder why I did that?! Edit- I think it's because it's a record and the sticker that's on it, maybe you should start taking the stickers off! I don't know what I'm talkin about I mean where it tells you the name of the record and stuff!

Yep you’re right when the record dries you do see the circle in the middle and to me that’s part of the charm of pouring on a record. Some records thats actually the form of it in the middle and not the sticker, others are flat and it is the sticker but I like it showing either way so you know it’s a record 😃🤗💜. I did have a learning experience with one of them recently though that some stickers can bleed through the paint 😱 so I may start taping the front of some too. Need to figure that out still. 💜

Good Morning Nelson 🤗! I don’t believe the floetrol is an anti-mildew additive no. If you want to check out their websites, the flood floetrol, (both the US and Australian) they may be able to tell you specifically more and I think they have their data sheets on there as well. I know their ingredients are proprietary but I think they list some of them. Both of the Floetrols are really for paint flow extenders helping to thin your paint out especially if you are using a spray gun (in the traditional sense using latex paint to paint your house or something else). In the fluid art world some use it as a pouring medium with their acrylic paints. What I use it for with the blooms technique is the cell activator only.

Beautiful! You always do such a great job! I'm sorry, I know this sounds mean... I don't intend to be but every time you lean over to modify it whatever you block out the light and I cannot see what it is you're doing. Please don't take this as me being ugly... I just want to see what you're doing! :)

Thank you so much Kim! I don’t take your comment as mean at all, thank you for letting me know. I try to be as mindful as I can when I’m blowing out or modifying but I also have a limited amount of space to work in so if I’m temporarily in the way that’s probably why. But me leaning over to modify with my skewer or palette knife while it’s in full view of the camera since the light is above me unfortunately there’s not a lot I can do to control that as I need to lean over to see what I’m doing lol. Maybe adjust the brightness on your screen some more will help so you can see what I’m doing when it’s just a little darker in some spots. I’ll also look into other lighting options to play with when the budget allows. Thanks so much Kim! 💜💜
