Been watching a lot of your podcasts they are educational and very interesting listening to other people's life stories I found prison time the same you meet people you never would of met on the outside because you live in differing areas it's an eye opener I guess being a prison officer was much the same

Would love to give you my life story but it wouldn't fit in one podcast I should be dead 20x over and heroin nearly did it after getting out of Lancaster prison at aged 29 still wasn't done after near death gotanother sentence after that and at nearly 31 I was done after getting my first methadone prescription at aged 15 when I wasn't even addicted to heroin Aged 54 on 1st Feb and not been on a script since 2006 when I finally kicked my sub u tex habit after 14 years on the stuff I had a difficult life and it's all been my own fault Mr Sam ways you see it was all about bad choices that's all it' ever is just wrong choices I've grown up a lot now but when I look back I see it was all my own fault I take responsibility for all my wrong choices which finally ended with me going to prison for 1st time at aged 28 we put ourselves through some shift don't we my crimes were robbing to feed my addiction I was lost and seriously burnt all of my bridges which even made even worse I didn't even care as long as I got rid of my sickness for the day I didn't care I dreaded the winters on heroin in 2005 I had the sudden death of my dad and after that I started another chapter where I started reading the bible then came umpteen spiritual experiences I can't even put into words you would understand what can I say God has a plan for all of us shame all the crap ate up half of my life but iam here still breathing alone with all of my friends from my village dead and in the cemetery and iam filled with an anger I don't know what to do with why me why did I survive and all my close friends dead I don't know the reason why I have survivor guilt now and struggle with my mental health cover hasn't helped but I try to keep going for my remaining family members I work now on building sites as a cscs labourer and iam crying writing this my mum died on bonfire night 2019 1 month before all this covid thing kicked off and mentally iam still not quite right but iam not where I used to be my mum died knowing I was not a heroin addict anymore and had turned my life full circle and was holding down jobs on building sites I start a new job on Mon in Manchester 2 on another site the story goes on my name is barrie brunsden iam a walking talking miracle they do happen iam living proof take care and this is only a snapshot of what I've been through and seen the mind boggles

I keep getting banned on Facebook I've had to shut them down scrolling constantly hasn't been doing my mental health any good
