The Bulgar case has always disturbed me not because of the age of Thompson and Venables at the time, but what they actually did to poor James. They should never have been released so soon and the Venables debacle proves that point. The Home Office and Parole Board have a lot to answer for

It seems there's more to the April Jones case. I know families in that area who say there's more to what the police are telling us. Two years after the incident, a small child was found in the river, they think it could have been April Jones, and that guy who got convicted of the crime maybe innocent after all.

Hallo again Sam, I'm a transplanted Scouser currently living a mile away from the Holiday Inn that the Cambs Police requisitioned in order to hold and interrogate this absolute crank. An old girlfriend grew up there and attended that now tainted school. What sticks with me is Kevin Wells and his achingly brave attempt to hold it together facing the horrific murder of his stunning little girl and his vow to make things just, God Bless the Chapmans and Wells families. Respect Sam.

you fail to understand it due to their own extreme suffering they did what they did its a reflection of self merely being projected out on to others its a trauma response / coping strategy this behavior has come about as result of someone damaging them we need to be helping such individuals heal not further damaging them which requires empathy and compassion which humanity is greatly lacking Punishment is fighting fire with fire It is hoping that we can teach physical and mental health to a person by demonstrating the opposite to them Punishing someone into wellness is a contradiction in terms

Hi Sam, thanks again for the content. This subject is always very emotive for me and my good lady. She’s from Soham, we know both the families, indeed Mrs Chapman was still working at the school when our kids went there. I’ve never seen a town come together like it did for those few weeks, we trawled through every inch of that town looking for the girls. It’s a great place to live, still very welcoming but it will never fully heal. It’s not just the parents and families that were deeply affected, our good friends Dad was the head teacher at the time, he still gets calls from the press for comments around these morbid anniversaries. Personally, I hope one day justice will be served on the monster.

Regarding assisted suicide ... absolutely NOT. If members of the public, suffering intolerable pain and mental illness are not given that right, then WTF should prisoners be allowed it? I saw Huntley in Wakefield in 2006 while I was waiting to see my solicitor. I looked over thinking, I know this guy. I looked over to another prisoner and started to chat with him. I said to him, I recognised the guy sitting there alone. The prisoner rose his voice and said, "Yeah, it's that f#@ing pedo". Within 2 min, several prison officers ran in, surrounding Huntley and escorting him out of the waiting room. Very over the top. Now, I know a guy from Wales who broke his thumb, just to get over to the hospital. While there,he attacked Huntley, slashing him across his face and neck. I'm a life sentenced prisoner, I did 21 years in all. I think anyone who kills kids should have an injection like we do to animals. Anyone who kills more than two people, then yes give them the injection. I've been out four and a half years, and I can tell you this, probation is/are useless. No support and don't care if you fail in civvy street.

I remember this case well as his girlfriend was moved to Scarborough a few doors away from a friend of mine but word soon got round who the new neighbour was and she was moved ! it is amazing just how much money , time and effort is put into these people while the victims are offered counselling and then left to it !!

You're so down to earth in the way you talk about this stuff. This case sticks out in my mind so much as me and my best friend were the same age as Holly and Jessica and we were also inseparable, me with brown hair and her with blonde hair. We looked so similar. I can remember our mums being so shocked by Huntley and what happened, as he completely ruined the idea that kids growing up in rural areas are 'totally safe'. We were always playing down the woods and making dens, disappearing for hours at a time, it was only after this that I can remember our parents telling us to be careful and mentioning him. It changed things for so many people and I always think how Holly and Jessica would have been now, would they have still been as close like me and my best friend still are in our 30s. So much was robbed of them. May they RIP.

Sammo I know it will never happen but in cases where guilt is proven especially in cases involving the abuse and murder of children a death sentence should be applied. This beast not only removed Holly and Jessica's lives but denied the chance of them having children of their own not to mention the agony he put their parents through. I have a daughter,the thought of her being taken from me by some paedophile is unimaginable. Being tormented day and night without rest in Hell for eternity is what he deserves. Hi Sam....Stephen! Lovely walk and talk, although the subject matter was both sad and annoying at the same time. I think the 'justice' system is flawed because we (human beings) are flawed. Decision making differs depending on the level of attachment we have to the outcome, so it's no wonder situations like those you described happen. Those who sit in judgment of others often have nothing invested in the outcome. Then again, human beings being what they are, would happily evoke the death penalty for someone who cut them off in traffic, yet let their child walk away from stabbing someone, claiming their child was forced to do it by the victim. Like I say, we're flawed creatures! On a happier note, Amazon tells me your second book will arrive this week, so I'm looking forward to turning the pages soon. All the best!

May them wee girls rest where they can suffer no more We had a case here of 2 lads of 13 who raped and murdered poor Anna Krigel - them 2 lads were never named and are now protected - they will no doubt be released soon and treated like royalty Makes me so angry that justice never gets served in all these cases - what about the victims and their families who wake up every day with loss grief and sadness in their hearts. I believe in the eye for an eye system - if you murder somebody its the death penalty but in a slow torture type way over a long period ! Evil personified these cretins. Sam great topic again ! The every day stress and terror wondering if he's going to be beaten up, if there;s shite or ground glass in his food-that's far better for Huntley than a death sentence.

I like your words Mr Samworth! Yes I wonder how healthy it is to dwell on the hatred for these animals. Roy Whiting, Ian Huntley, Peter Sutcliffe, Hindley/Brady etc. But you do echo the sentiments of he people I work with. I remember reading, Whiting got a sharpened bog Brush handle; rammed into the back of his eye socket. I was looking at a cheap plastic bog brush in a budget high street supermarket. And wondered had the price of plastic shot up so drastically that there was so little stock on the handle, compared to a similar item at home. But NO, it was a safety measure intended, so that they could not be sharpened to a useable point like the carver who used an old razor blade over the course of an afternoon to pare it down to a point to go into that scumbag's eye socket. I did say I wondered if it was healthy to dwell on this sort of thing didn't I/eye! But in my closing words, respect and peace to the family of Holly Wells & Jessica Chapman, and Jamie Bulger's family. May you find peace. Rot in Hell child killers. HOABL

Pedophilia is one of those subjects that people dread discussing Our ability to understand it is obstructed by our general level of disgust towards it For this reason I ask that you develop a curiosity and a willingness to remain completely open minded so that understanding can evolve as a result of it Long story short the pedophile was hurt so badly as a child that his or her entire child-ness and innocence had to be suppressed denied and rejected for the sake of emotional mental or physical survival There is therefore an aspect of them that had to grow up way too fast and thus could not develop naturally As a result there is a part of themselves that they dissociated from that is frozen in a state of childhood As a result of dissociating from their child-ness and their innocence in order to feel whole, they must reconnect with that aspect of themselves that was lost This is why they are attracted to children a pedophile is always someone who has themselves been extremely damaged I also believe that the answer to the huge problem of childhood sexual abuse is to help the abusers heal The only thing that I would add is that it is everyone's sole purpose to heal themselves from whatever has damaged their sense of who they are.

Sorry to break it to you but sexual preference is not decided by childhood experiences. The way your brain is wired at birth decides if you are attracted to men, women, or children. Every aspect of human make up across the board is on the spectrum. Out of every 100% will be a percentage of heterosexuals, homosexuals, peodofiles, bisexuals, transgenders, etc The same applies to psychopaths, sociopaths, bipolar, schitzophrenics etc Some treatments have varying success in controlliing behaviour but none of these conditions have a cure. Millions of people are hurt badly in childhood by abuse but still grow up to be normal and will persue whichever sexual preference they were born with. Rapists are people who have an imbalance in how much testosterone the body is creating. Huge amounts trigger a reaction in the brain that will produce a desire to crave violent sex and lots of it. So a percentage of people are born with a sexual preference for children and there is nothing we can do about it. The only question is how we punish these people when they act out their preference. Healing them is not an option.

I'm against the death penalty personally. I think the greater punishment is to serve a long sentence, death means they won't serve that time as they won't know about it. I remember this case when it happened as I'm a Peterborough lad, so it's not far away. Absolutely despicable really, not just the heinous act, but the perversion in accepting media interviews knowing full well what went on and where they are. She can rot in hell as she was complicit, just as guilty in my eyes. The Bulger case is interesting having looked into it myself, one lad has apparently gotten on with his life, but the other (Venables) is a pedophilic shit by all accounts.

Believe it or not there is a case for Huntley not doing this. Now, I'm not 100% sure, but there is an argument to be had for him being not guilty. Does anyone remember the police finding 2 mounds of earth that the police dug up and sectioned off for 24 hours, only to say it was badger sets or some completely ridiculous explanation.

@@jamesy666 well I'm quite sure the police know the difference between badger sets, and freshly dug holes with body's in them. Also, badgers do not set up next to each other like that. The police was there at the 'badger sets' for over 24 hours with full on forensic teams. They sextioned it off and put tents up. A large scale operation! It was all over the news! Then, oh it's only badger sets? Laughable! That's the first red flag. In my opinion they found more than badger holes. There is plenty more too. The case absolutely stinks.

No way Sam should he be allowed to die, as a matter of fact the justice system has it all wrong when sentencing these beasts to a whole of life tariff.., the worst sentence you can give these animals is one in which gives them a hope of release.., give them a whole of life tariff and they have no hope of ever being released.., but you give them a sentence that gives them some hope (but gets knocked back at all parole hearings).., THAT is hard time!

used to have maxine carrs mum come in for sunday dinner at my mums pub. when she walked in the place went silent as everyone knew who her daughter was. my mum barred her eventually as she was creating an atmosphere. she procrastinated "i havent done anything, why am i been victimised?" unbelieveable . can remember ian huntley around grimsby pubs, didnt know him but recognised his face when he was arrested. can always remember him leering at young girls stood at the bar on his own. just seemed like one of them pervy blokes you see in the clubs late at night. he had a number of allegations for attacking girls which werent properly investigated by humberside police. if they had done their job properly them girls would be still alive today.

What do you think of the monster of Worcester David McGreavy be released??
@amandaduggan9051
@amandaduggan9051 2 ай бұрын
The death sentence would rid the world of the evil monster Huntley and maybe be a deterrent to others with murderous intent. It sounds as though he wants to die because he is suffering in prison. So maybe this is a fitting sentence for him for as long as he lives. The parents and family of these two little girls are no doubt living a life sentence of their own, so why shouldn't he for his terrible crime. His accomplice should also have served a sentence, and not been allowed to get off scot-free. The 3 child killers are clearly psychotic and a danger to others. Why they are not locked away for their evil crimes is crazy. What they did is beyond comprehension and unforgivable. My heart goes out to the parents who have to live with the loss of their murdered children and how they suffered at the hands of these monsters. Very disturbing what they did and the fact they were never properly punished. I think the people who decided to let them go free should be brought into question.
