It looks like the distal taper on 1796 has really improved compared to one I handled years ago, may have to get myself one.

Have you corrected the lack of distal tapering of the blade from the hilt to the tip on the current production models of the 1796 Light Cavalry Saber as compared to earlier production models? That was one criticism that really stood out to me in Scholagladiatoria's review of the Cold Steel 1796 Light Cavalry Saber.

They do, it is called the "Espada XL." I own one, and it is one beast of a short sword. When I demonstrate it for my friends, their eyes bug out. I'm almost ALWAYS asked what I need it for. I tell them it is "want," not so much need. I remind them that once deployed, few are liable to proceed with their attack. One wise guy said he carried a firearm. I told him that if this baby is deployed first, he won't have a hand to hold his firearm. 😏

Me. Thompson, I own two of your swords and almost every knife you ever produced. I just purchased three more, both SR 1 models and the 4 Max. What do you consider the "baddest" attack sword for defense, durability, and reliability. The cost is insignificant, I simply want the best of your best.

@@DarkSlaughterchannel Now does that mean you can't own and collect knives and swords or does it mean you can't carry them?
@DarkSlaughterchannel
@DarkSlaughterchannel 4 жыл бұрын
I can own certain types of knives and carry them freely if they don't fall into certain categories. For example, the length of the blade should not be more than 15 cm (6 inches). It's for folding knives. For knives with a fixed blade, the rules are different. For example, I can own and wear the same Recon Tanto because it doesn't have a pronounced blade limiter. In this case, for example, the maraduer model will already be banned, due to the large length of the limiter.

I doubt Lynn Thompson will see this. Remember Al Baliki? I think he trained in Silat under one of the De Thouars brothers? Well my uncle was Brendan Lai who taught 7 Stars Praying Mantis among other Combatives in San Francisco and was friends to most of the De Thouars Brothers as well as Danny Inosanto. My uncles passed in 2002 to complications to diabetes! Just a shout out to the students of these arts! May peace Favor Your Sword Forever friend! I hope you are well?
