Impressive how quickly you disassembled that pistol. I’m lucky to remove the slide lock pin in that amount of time :)

thank you so much. I got a brand new 1911 and the hammer wasnt staying back. You helped me tremendously. Subscribed for sure! I dry cycled my 1911 over 50 times and it seems to have done the trick! thank you!

Hammer follow can be dangerous. I would recommend replacing the sear spring all together and the sear/disconnect. Kind of sounds like your sear is worn out.

I was having issues with my full size 1911. Seemed as though my trigger pull was lighter and causing inadvertent firings of fast shooting. The gun has 10k+ rounds and I didn't know if what might be worn to cause this to happen. Concerning, though, because this is my carry gun. You had an excellent explanation of what I was experiencing. I had already ordered a new sear spring so now I know the why and how to make it work. Thanks.

This is some terrific information I will absolutely never use. I’m a big fan of handing my stuff to an experienced gun smith for this depth of work. Absolutely I will clean, detail strip and even swap some parts but I’ve seen too many errors some of them tragic messing with this level of smithing and/or removing grip safeties, (one dead buy his own hand at a shooting event and the other catching the RO with a ricochet from a double that was unintentional that hit the barrier frame). Without this video I may have considered trying some minor adjustments myself but I’m now convinced it’s well worth the money to get a professional to do it for me. Thanks, very informative and excellent content as always.

Put the spring in and then slide the bottom part on just a bit to hold that spring into the groove. I figured that out the hard way.

I did this adjustment on my umarex 1911 replica airgun. much better trigger after the sear adjustment. airguns are typically made for kids and often got really heavy trigger pull. it ruins the fun for an adult shooter .

what if your hammer doesn't want to stay or click on the 2nd? but when the main spring housing is a little off it will click

How about the 1911 45 not staying open after the last round It did it with the stock mag and the new mag seemed to fix it but its doing it again
@tomgiorgini91547 ай бұрын
you want minimum 8 oz on disco leaf and min 16 oz on sear leaf, I keep disco@12 oz and sear18-20 oz gives me 2 1/4 -2 1/2 lbs trigger pull per jerry kuhnhausen's book. hammer follow is extremely dangerous, after adjusting, only 2 rounds in gun for testing one in chamber 1 in mag, after bench testing for hammer follow

Hi there. I was just shooting my Dan Wesson today and I was having hammer follow. So I would have to physically cock the hammer almost every time. I’ve ever had an issue with this gun so that’s why it’s so odd. Not one malfunction. Any ideas? Thanks

I noticed in most of these videos that the parts are clean and dry. Is this just for the ease of showing without the mess or should these parts be lightly oiled?
@AtlasGunworks Жыл бұрын
Light oil almost never hurts but in non humid operating conditions oil is not required on most kinds trigger parts. (depends on what materials the parts are made from) We like to add a drop of oil to the Disco head every time we oil the gun. That will lube the trigger parts well.

chelas musica y armas the spring will not change thumb safety engagement. You will need a new thumb safety or to weld up the one you have.

Well this video is old. So I doubt I'll get a response. But I bought a Sig Sauer / GSG 1911-22. There is a rattling by the beavertail and the forum said it was because the sear spring needed an adjustment. Any ideas?

Afternoon Sir, do you have any ideas why my 1911 fires once then it feels like the safety is on?? If I rack the slide, it will fire again only to feel like the safety is on again????
@AtlasGunworks4 жыл бұрын
Most likely you have a disconnector problem. When you rack the slide the disconnector moves and resets.
