I loved Veronica Lake in "I Married a Witch". My parents were born in the 1940s here in BC. However they did not eat a high meat diet. Times were tough during and after the World War II. Most people in the lower mainland of BC had their own vegetable gardens and chickens for eggs and meat. There was no pizza and not really any takeout food. Most baked goods were baked at home. Looking back at all their pictures and photographs of their friends and family not one of them was overweight. Everybody was extremely active with their jobs and chores around their homes. They also walked and rode the bikes everywhere. Most families only had one vehicle.

This was really good. Rita Hayworth and Veronica Lake had such sad lives. Rita was sexually abused by her father and physically and mentally abused by her husbands. I have often wondered if getting alzheimers so young was in part her brain subconsciously needing to escape from her terribly traumatic life. I have always been a big fan of Lauren Bacall. She was a very talented actress and a lady who really had her head screwed on.

My mom ate Ayds, well, like candy throughout my childhood. It tasted pretty good. I never noticed much of an appetite suppressant element to them. I remember when Aids came about and Ayds became creepy.

I met Lauren Bacall briefly back in the late seventies. I thought she was gorgeous. I tried that Ayds candy once years ago. I did not notice any difference.
