Check out Jeff's latest farm find.
Saturday with Sobering brings a new truck to the yard.
Watch as we go pick up, bring home and go over this new project. It is going to need some love, it all starts with pickling. We will be prepping the truck for a "will it run" video in the spring since we are overwhelmed with work in the shop.
Don't forget to check us out on Facebook and Instagram
A special thank you to Brent at Halfass Kustoms for giving Jeff the kick in the butt that he needed to keep going on this truck. Stay tuned to see what happens with this truck.

i had a 1941 k1. my grandad gave it to me when i was 16. it had been sitting for about 10 yrs and i got it running again. sold it in the mid 80's. wish i had it back sometimes. I have my 1959 GMC Wideside now. have had offers on it but not for sale. learned my lesson with the Internatioal.

Rural farms everywhere had these trucks or one like them. Brings back old memories on the farm, working for neighbors to earn hay money at $0.03 cents per bale. How many high school kids would work for that money? None. Sent here to look you up from “OutLaw Garage” I think. But pre-war and post, these build and feed the masses. Fixing my 1967 C10 to run in the 2022 and beyond. Retired tech and have the time it’s just I don’t remember it hurting so much. My 5 gallon of elbow grease is on back order from everyone and need a 2X4 strapped to my back to stand straight. Drs. have done so many things l have lost track and now my yard while holding a cain. Too step for a rider, so I will make do! I will be looking at the channel to see what my eye catches, then back to work. Where do old mechanics go anyways?

Holy Small town Manitoba!!!, I know the person you bought it from, I know the farm where it came from and I'm currently trying to finish a Kb1. I also have KB7 parts truck that I would love to swap the front clip over.. at some point. Yes the big truck sheet metal fits.. mostly... fenders need a bit of extra work. It would be nothing for Brent to work his creative magic on.

I'm hoping I can make that big truck sheet metal work if I decide to go that route now. I might go a different direction with this build. Who knows. Thanks for watching.

I learned about left hand studs the same way you did!!! As mentioned earlier, the stud ends are stamped with an "L". I have a '48 International pickup that I got running a few years back. Motor was locked up tight when I got it - pickled it and had it free and running in a week. Tough old motors!!!! Also have a '49 panel that I need to get on top of an S10 chassis soon.

Yeah, atleast I only bust one stud off. I'm hoping in the spring I can get the old thing running. Thanks for watching.

Chrysler big trucks did that as well. I was changing tires and went bigger & bigger with tools. Finally an older guy said “Helps to tighten the hell out of them before taken them off” He walk away. I yelled and asked! He said “Lefty-Loosy, unless big truck and some others, that is when I saw the “L” on the studs. “Holy Backward Threads, Batman!” Yes, the come right off now. Felt like a 13 year old fool, but I was 13.

Cool, those old internationals are such great looking trucks, and built like tanks too. Even though you said you wont use the original drivetrain I think it would be really cool to see you attempt to get it running in the spring!

Nice find and Jeff thought Dave wouldn't like it. Apparently you weren't the first victims to fall for the old reverse thread on the driver side wheel lug trick.

The first fire after 50 years 27 studebaker was filled to the rim with used motor oil. Think i drained 6 gallons out of the big 6. When i fired it, there was a 3 foot thick smokey haze that filled the shop. That one came from Swaney’s auction.
