At one time Schlitz beer was the number one seller. Until it wasn't. Someone at Schlitz decided to change the recipe. That pissed off the customers and Schlitz fell out of favor and out of the number one slot and the original recipe was lost. Several years ago an effort was made to reconstruct the recipe by going through archives and literally digging up former employees who were on life support. What's on the market today is a beer that's made with a recipe as close to the original as possible. Lessons are never learned. Coke decided to change it's formula and nearly suffered the same fate. If it isn't broke don't fix it.

Where has all the gusto gone? This genre of ad would never fly today in our sensitive, feminized culture. Men beating tuna into submission with poles, spearing, and hooking them into the boat? It would be rated R if that came out today. What a shame. Just how far are we willing to fall?
