Tarikh is a daily program in which we present you with incidents and stories of noteworthy persons of Indian History in Hindi. In this edition of Tarikh, Divyanshi talks about how the Indian Navy showed its resilience during the 1971 war. In 1965 India started modernising its navy with defence arms pacts with the Soviet Union. In 1971 these purchases helped the navy execute Operation Trident. Another Such was Operation-X, a three-stage naval special operation of the Indian Navy which entailed blocking supplies to damage the war waging potential of Pakistan in the erstwhile East Pakistan. First of.all my tribute to Naval Cheif Nanda Saheb and Salaam to all sea warriors of Indian Navy who had executed naval plans perfectly in 1971 war to destroy Karanch port to make Indian Navy superiority and they finally halved Pakistan within 14 days and make new country Bangladesh. बहोत बढिया ! कहानी सुनते समय सीना चौढा होता है ! उस वक्त बहोत ही कठीन था , पाकिस्तान पर विजय पाना! अमेरिका पाकिस्तानको हर तरह की मदत कर रहा था ! चातुर्य और शौर्य यह दो गुणोंसे हम जीत हासिल की ! मगर रशिया का सपोर्ट सबसे ज्यादा मायने रखता है ! रशिया की वजहसे अमेरिका कुछ कर नहीं सका ! नौदल, आर्मी और एअर फोर्स सबका योगदान था ! सत्यमेव जयते यही सत्य है ! धन्यवाद व्हिडिओ के लिये !

Namaste,Muhib Bhai. My father--was soldier in the Indian army, during Bangladesh desh war his unit was in Jamalpur. My father died in 2013, but city of Jamalpur will be always in my heart.

Wrong ..it was Chola Empire who is the father of Indian Nevy.

@@jaydwivedi7341 actually the first empire to build navy in India was chola empire but our modern day Indian navy was started by Shivaji Maharaj. But in fact, the navy of cholas couldn't actually be considered a navy because their navy mainly included of transport ships and not attack ships... Cholas navy was just used to transport soldiers overseas and it was not compatible of naval combat.... Shivaji took all major steps to make a separate naval wing command in his military and he was the one who actually made a professional navy...... His navy was capable of naval combat too... The modern day indian navy was once part of Maratha empire and this navy later started working under Britishers and after independence the navy came under government of India... Therefore, Shivaji Maharaj is called the father of Indian navy.... I too wondered the same thing before that cholas must be regarded as he father of Indian navy but my thoughts changed when I came to know about the above mentioned fact...

The fact that Admiral Nanda was not promoted to 5 star rank as Fleet Admiral (Like FM Maneckshaw) was the biggest injustice ever. The more I read about Adm. Nanda, the more impressed I get. Absolute top notch leader.

About the Karachi raid. One imp aspect was missed. How the OSA class Missile boats were towed for more than half of the first leg of the operation by Frigates and other ships as they had low range. These middle boats were designed for har our defense. Only this operation they were used as offensive vessels showed the ingenuity of the Indian naval officers. Even Admiral Gorshkov was very impressed by their use.

It was lack of supplies that made the Pakistanis surrender so fast. After more than 8 months of civil war, Pakistani forces in East Pakistan were without food, fuel, medicine and ammunition as these supplies were effectively blockaded by the guerrillas and Indian navy.

Very interesting story. But maidam u missed two imp factor. First is when and how INS Vikrant (Russian name Gorshkov) reached in India. Second is destroy ment of INS Khukari. It might better if u could describe secerifise of Capt Mullah of INS Khukhri in 1971 war
