Put a baton in Phil Brown's hand for a relay, and he was an incredible anchor leg runner.

Harold Schmidt ran second leg for West Germany. One of the most underrated runners of all time. Had it not been for Edwin Moses, who knows how many Olympic and World golds he would've had. 1987 400 hurdles, one of the greatest races of all time!!
@kerstinsulzer8399

In fact Schmidt ran a fantastic second leg here, wich in my opinion was vital for the german victory. You may have noticed, that Skamral was only third after his leg, but Schmidt ran the first bend so fast in order to be in the lead, when the runners reached the breaking point, where they were allowed to change to the inside lane. That's one great thing about Harald Schmid: He gave it all in the Relays.

Always admired Schmidt; must be tough to be second most of the time; think he also ran the 800m at least on one occasion & remember he & another (Frenchman?) giving Moses a very hard time of it on one (Olympic?) final

Todd Bennett ran the best leg there for GB Team. I was lucky enough to of ran against todd in 4x100m relays and 4x400m and a couple o 100m races too. He was a flyer and he noticed me getting better in each race and was very encouraging to me to keep doing what I was doing as in the 4x100m race we had I was on the same leg as him and I was able to keep up with him on that leg of the relay. I moved to Ireland that year 1993 and 1 last race of the ur and managed 11.1sec which was so close to breaking that magical barrier for a sprinter of 11 sec and firmly put me in the no 1 slot for my County for the nxt 10yrs with my best being 10.70sec. God I wud of love to of beaten todd back then. But what a gent, I wud of loved to of had him as my coach as I'm sure he cud of got me to run faster no problem??
