I bought my 1983 300d turbo in 1990 with 60075 miles. Still have her in 2023 but on her 3rd engine.

Man i i tell you I am a big fan of yours. I really appreciate you passion for these classic Diesel Mercedes. You are so detailed with them. I am always amazed how you fine these gems. No matter what you always bring all your cars back to show room glory. Great job always!

Great job! Beautiful car. I would almost hate to drive them with such low miles. This needs to be a weekend/show cruiser and kept. If your a person wanting to get one of these as a daily driver, find a well taken care of high mileage car, do the same maintenance to it and feel good that your saving an example. At that point, go put 300,000 miles on it and have fun. Let these unicorns live though :) I dont just say this, I live this. I'm currently restoring (slowly) my 300,000K wagon as a driver. If I ever have the means to buy and store an example like this one I would 100% get one from Woods and Barclay. The attention to detail is unlike anything I have seen from others. Hats off.

You’ll be putting the fan jumper back in when you see how pathetic the AC is on the W123. Any additional condenser cooling helps.

If you have a healthy system that's been properly flushed and cleaned out and you've installed a new compressor dryer and expansion valve the 123 AC system works absolutely fine even in the hottest climates. However you have to make sure it's fully serviced for that to be true.

With R12 and a clean evaporator they cool OK. In 1985 MB changed the water pump pulley to a smaller size to spin the fan and pump faster at idle. I use this pulley in addition to a Sanden compressor and a parallel flow condenser to keep up with the Texas summers. I also use R152 for lower head pressures.

your supposed tu unclip the spedo cable in the engine compartment before removing the guage cluster to facilitate enough movement of the cable

I see how this works on the W123 but my doors are hard to close on my w124. How do you fix this problem on the W124?

It's pretty rare that we have 124s come through the shop and I've never had one with doors that won't close well. I'll have to take a look at the latch mechanism online and see if it's the same.
