My mother raised me to not clean up after myself, because I couldn't do it as well as she did. It becomes part if your mentality so that when I moved out on my own, it felt more of a challenge to clean up broken glass than it should have been. Over the years after so many broken plate or glass incidents, you just do it without thinking about it. Dont judge her for how she was raised.
