Best regular season game I ever watched. I just sat in awe in my living room for awhile after the game was over. My brother asked if I was alright. I was trying to gather my thoughts and recall all the great games I had watched…..then I just looked at my brother and told him, “that was the greatest game I ever seen”.

Watched this live as a kid with my gramps. Our family were 49ers fans. We followed Joe Montana to the Chiefs because we were Joe Montana fans first, 49ers fans second. It IS until now, the greatest Monday Night Football game ever played. The new generation never witnessed Joe Montana play and if Tom Brady did not exist, Montana will be spoken as the GOAT.

When NFL football was truly great and exciting. Less free agency meant there was less movement of players between teams, so you could count on seeing most of the same players for years on a single team. Football was limited to Sunday & Monday Night. MNF was still an event. Free ABC broadcast TV. That great instrumental lead-in theme, followed by Hank Williams Jr. Michaels, Gifford, & Dierdorf hosting. Kansas City with Joe Montana & Marcus Allen on Offense - every game Montana played with the Chiefs was a wonder to watch. Neil Smith & Derrick Thomas on Defense - Thomas was like a missile to the QB, and Smith doing his pump fake could get offensive linemen to jump before the ball was hiked, leading to penalties. Those were the days!!

Elway and Montana are in the top class of QBs which also must include P. Manning, Brady, Unitas, Staubach and perhaps a few other QBs like Rodgers, Favre, Marino and Tittle. It is impossible to affirmatively declare one of these QBs as the greatest over another because each QB has his personal merits and to some extent drawbacks. Montana won 3 SB MVPs and 4 SBs but he missed a ton of games in his career and his back-up QBs often won without him. Elway won 2 SBs and an NFL MVP but he also lost 3 SBs. Staubach was 2-2 in SBs he started but he had great coaching and an outstanding defense on the other side. Brady is 4-2 in the SB so far with 3 SB MVPs but he also had Belichick (chicken or the egg?) and plenty of great receivers (Moss, Gronkowski, Branch, Chad Johnson, Welker, Edelman, Amendola, Hernandez, etc.). Favre was just 1-1 in the SB with 3 NFL MVPs but he also played 20 years. P. Manning was just 2-2 in the SB with 5 NFL MVPs and a SB MVP but his teams lost 43-8 and 31-17 in SBs where he did poorly. Tittle and Marino never won a championship.

I believe Montana suffered a concussion in the AFC Championship versus Buffalo in 1994. If he doesn't, KC wins and plays the Cowboys. As much as I love Joe Montana and that 94' Chiefs team, I seriously doubt they could have beaten the Cowboys that year in the Superbowl.

Denver has some of the worst fans I've ever seen. They are very arrogant, cocky, and everything. When they win, they let you know about it, that's for sure. Plus they are very annoying fans as well. I too think Denver is a very slimy franchise.
@kungpaobenji277 жыл бұрын
I can't quite understand why a common fan can root for the Broncos but against the Pats. Broncos have that arrogant "Mile High" brand of football they like to rub into everyone else. It's really annoying. They hate the Pats "winning so much" from the early 2000s till now, but they were an underdog franchise for so long almost relocating to Jacksonville late 80s, St. Louis early 90s, and enduring the doormat underdog status for so long.
