Gotta love Kevin Harlan when he was on Chiefs radio broadcasts. His enthusiasm and passion is what made Chiefs radio broadcasts must listen too. Kevin is a legend. And I still don't know why the Chiefs haven't inducted him into their ring of honor. Or maybe they did. BTW Montana was the best crunch time QB that ever played the game.

His postseason moments with the Chiefs were flat out awesome, but that game in 1994 was the most defining moment in regular season history. To go toe to toe with another legend in John Elway, and for two teams to be rivals like that, it was an awesome game to watch. To beat John Elway in HIS OWN HOUSE, nothing short of a miracle, and everything.

The Montana who played for the Chiefs was maybe 60-65% of his prime self in '93 and had dropped to probably around 45% by the end of 1994 but he still had that intangible that makes the great ones who they are. I'm glad he left when he did though because he was definitely done by that time.

I started weeping with 10 minutes to go in the Houston game, and shrieking with 5 minutes to go. And that Monday night game will live on in The Kingdom as one of the greatest regular season games EVER. Thrilling to see Grunny, Derrick, Neil, Kimble, Keith, Nick, & Co. Joe Montana is STILL the greatest quarterback ever because he played tougher teams in a much tougher era than Brady did. Brady is great too, but the teams he faced were not that tough. Montana went up against teams like the 1985 Bears, the Giants were ALWAYS tough, then you got the Eagles, Bengals, Redskins, Cowboys, Rams, Saints, and Falcons. Every tough team they played in the 80s, Montana for the most part beat a very large majority of them teams.

Joe was knocked out of that game. I think honestly that had that not happened they would have at least had a chance to win. I believe a look at his history and even the two previous playoff games supports that. Joe always played at another level in the Superbowl. If they had made it, they would have won it. Doesn't matter who they played. He was like Jordan in the finals. It was a lock.

Mount Rushmore of Q.B.' s in this order are (1) Montana (2) Brady (3) Elway (4) Favre . Sorry, Marino, wish I could make you 4 but no Superbowl victories and only 1 appearance. Aikman with 3 rings, but with Smith, Irving, Novacek and Moooooooooose, Steve Bono could have probably ran that offense.

Mount Rushmore respects history. Montana and Brady top, fine, then a group with Unitas, Baugh, Graham as well as Manning, Elway and Marino...and then the likes of Young, Rodgers, Staubach, Favre (exciting but too many interceptions I think to be top 4), Starr, Brees, Bradshaw, Aikman..

@mizofan
@mizofan 7 жыл бұрын
How will Kansas City do? Ooh, that's a hard one, I don't know, i'm very far from an expert, more an ignoramus. I just know a bit about various greats of sporting history. I'm from a little country called Wales- I first started watching "American football" when the 1984 season was the first to be shown regularly on British TV, and that was when Montana's great 49ers beat Marino's exciting Dolphins, though I chose the Seahawks as the team to support cos I thought it must be a beautiful area and I imagined birds flying majestically over the sea. Anyway, I'm glad Kansas did well with Montana; he was Joe Cool, for sure. and I liked Marcus Allen a lot.
