Think i bought into to an early founder pack for this when I was a teenager. Ill be 33 next month.

I loved the original dark age of Camelot... Best PvP I have experienced.... However... The follow up ....

Smoke and mirrors, Camelot was always vaporware and "almost two years out" for a release date leaves plenty of time for them to have another delay.

I remember when the backers of this game were running around claiming this game would kill so many other games.

Hence the reason why I never take part in game kickstarts.

Mark Jacobs is a huge huge liar. He literally scammed thousands by saying he was making a game and not an engine.

I've been waiting for my refund for 4 years or more.

Almost 4 years awaiting on refund that MJ promised.

Engine wise the numbers of players is very high for realm Vs realm, so that has a certain technical challenge. AGS have stated the number of players increases exponentially the network traffic and load on the system. So keeping that network budget low is key.

ahhhhh NOW its starting to make sense. Mark is going for the gold. He doesn't want to make a game, he wants to make a new engine to power games. WAY more money in that. THAT'S how he is getting more funding. I was always perplexed at HOW he was not only getting more funding but ALOT of funding. He tricked people into funding Camelot Unchained so that he could develop this engine. The gamble was that he could do both the MMO and the engine to power it to license to other companies to make games and MMOs. Sony was trying to do this with Everquest Next. You see how that turned out. Mark Jacobs really is a scumbag. I understand now why Warhammer Online failed when it shouldn't have. I still play it to this day on the private server. However anyone wanting a refund on their kickstarter for Camelot Unchained should have done a chargeback a long time ago. You also should file a class action and submit your petition to the Better Business Bureau. Them renaming the company is a CLASSIC strategy to get around previous misdeeds. This is what scammers do.

If the game releases at the end of 2025 (which I doubt), it will still fail. They are many years late, they have no audience and no one will just go for rvr/pvp in a game that is extremely outdated in all respects. It will come out unfinished and will be extremely niche. p.s. But it's good that investors are pushing them, so at least we'll see how things turn out in the end.

As someone that backed the game. I have to say I wish I had that money back. That said if they sell that engine. I feel myself and all the other backers should be given stock in the company at the value of our backing.

I backed the game as I loved DAoC and remember when Ragnarok came out. Mark Jacobs knew people were upset so he said you could get a refund so I asked for one. They refused to give me a refund and told me in an email that only Jacobs himself could authorize it (yeah, right) and that he wasn’t coming in the office that much at the time. I doubt the game will ever come out, but if it does, I will not be playing it.

I went through college, started my job, got my masters degree, and have been promoted to the 2nd highest pay scale since this game has been in development lol. How long did WoW take to develop?

That engine isnt worth a damn. They should of just made camelot unchained on the unreal engine instead of screwing around.

Still waiting on my refund request 2 years and counting. Will never see that money back. Also, the engine is garbage, both games are garbage, and the investors providing the funding for this will be spending alot of time and resources trying to get their money back when this house of cards inevitably comes crashing down.

what ever they decide to do at this point, i wrote them off along time ago.. I will never play a game that that dev crew builds or works on at a different company.

This is what Star Citizen did. It's Marks only move at this point to make his money back and actually finish CU. And if the engine is done they can focus 100% on CU.

I am sorry, but your video is very disappointing. Even 5 mins of research would tell you that they pitched their engine during kickstarter and the big value they promised is to be near impossible to hack on the client side. That’s why I backed the game with a high tier, even when I dont do PvP (at all). Do a bit more research about their engine, you will understand why its uber kool. Don’t make videos that are incorrect, and if you want folks to stick around, do correct this video
