I bought a sling that has a loop on it that allows me to sinch it up or extend it quickly just by pulling forward or backwards on the loop. I really like that sling. I'm not storming the gates or anything, but it makes walking through the woods a lot more comfortable. Whether I'm walking, kneeling down on the ground or climbing into a tree stand, the rifle stays where I want it.
@meltonkentjr1226
@meltonkentjr1226 4 ай бұрын
@CarbonGlassMan, I know what you mean about the sling. I purchased one for my AR/M4 by colt Bushmaster that I bought years ago as a Deputy Sheriff from a South Carolina Highway Patrolman who also had a FFL and was buying weapons requested by different personnel to sell to them. It had the standard sling with it and I wasn't to happy with it but I said "hey I got my AR that's my first step! I had JUST STARTED to fall into the "Emergency Preparedness" category or, SHTF! Eventually over time as I started upgrading my equipment and my wife's equipment I found a 3 point sling for my AR and for her Hi-Point 995 9mm rifle. (I know a lot of people are gonna say, Hi-Point, what's wrong with you! But in all honesty I owned a 45 from Hi-Point and shot it for years. I eventually over 15 years or so of having this weapon got a "squib", or malfunction where the lead hung up in the end of the barrel! I contacted Hi-Point and shipped it back to them WITHOUT the magazines of course and they called me and said it couldn't be fixed so they were sending me a brand new one! It also had 2 magazines! So anybody out there with ANY TYPE OF HI-POINT, DOESN'T MATTER WHEN YOU BOUGHT IT, THEY HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THEM NOW!!!!) She was NOT a gun person but slowly but surely I walked her up from a .22LR to the 9mm and she STOP! I'm happy with the 9mm because I can control it and it doesn't have hardly any recoil. I put her a holographic sight on it and with the quick mounts I purchased her a regular scope. She could change it out in a minute or so and I was surprised. Not to mention her shots on paper! Damn that girl was good with that 9mm and could put them in the bullseye 🎯 ring almost every time! The slings were good that I purchased for our weapons but I wish I had found Dave back then because I would have gotten the bungee sling for us! I wasn't a big KZfaqr back then but I turn to it all the time for tips on setting up my chest rig, body armor, experience from "OUR PROFESSIONAL SOLDIERS" that are willing to give us pointers and quick and easy ways to run our gear and the different grips for different weapons and situations! THANKS DAVE AND TACTICAL HYVE FOR GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY, AND FOR YOUR SERVICE TO THIS NATION THAT OWES YOU MORE THAN THEY'LL EVER GIVE YOU!!!!!

The best sling instruction this old soldier has seen, thank you. I remember wishing that old cotton strap was fixed to the side of my M16A1. How about changing mags when the sling is drawn tight? I struggled with that until someone took pity on me in one of FieldCrafts Carbine classes……

A great vid on 2 pointers. When we went to having an AR in the cruiser we had the single point-which with training is ok-but just ok IMHO. I had it threaded around the top shoulder straps of my plate carrier with a positioned misc pouch in place that the rifle could be placed behind it and keep the weapon ready but out of my way for going to hands on, climbing, fences, etc. Then I got a 2 poing with bungee and loved it. After 30 yrs on duty I gave back my Colt but still had my own AR. I run a bungee 2 point of it, my tac shotguns and my VZ58 or SKS fun gun. Consistency in training by having the same set up on each platform. My son is a career Marine Sgt and corp forearms instructor so I like to see what the 2 point adjustable they are using. I may switch over OR being an old guy may just keep what systems I have to keep the familiarity. Not a big deal, but just like when I was with special units for many years we practiced all the time so each time a scene or fugitive warranted it your rifle was deployed and seconds could count or getting into positions quickly. Im just saying what people that carry weapons for a living HAVE to train all the time with all your gear. Be sure to do the same. Again, great video my friend and thank you for sharing your views and technique on a simple, effective piece of kit. Stay safe.

Great information, especially considering the low probability of a civilian scaling obstacles/barriers beyond a 6 foot fence/ wall. Sometimes former soldiers/special forces operators forget that some of us are in or 60s and are not the men we used to be when we served in our 20s. Thanks!

I recently came across your KZfaq channel, and am impressed by the quality of information you provide, and your no nonsense approach presentations without making them dry. Recently, I purchased a 12 gauge semi-auto tactical bullpup for home defense on which I'll attach a two point sling. Can I assume that sling setups for an AR platform translate the same over to a tactical shotgun setup, or are there things that need to be taken into account between the two different systems?
