One social meet up group I attended lately, one of the guys there told me he sadly didn't get his very first girlfriend until he was 30, while he is happy about having a girlfriend now, he still gets kind of depressed and bitter and resentful over having been single that long. He sometimes says he feels if he was born at least an average looking woman, he would not have been single that long. Yet people think men still have the better end of the stick in the dating world than women do, especially when men are far more likely than women are to be single that long or to have a lonely journey.

That's a very helpful point of view. I can be and come across as needy, as too invested, clingy etc. Yet, I usually have no trouble saying things "I like you / I love you" and these are never weak moments. In fact, these are rock solid moments. I took a while to employ this but it has become easy. The "ninja how" or mindset "trick" is "this is my gift to you, up to you to make something of it" and I do not focus on the outcome at all. I"m not saying it to get a certain response.

I'm critical of many of Marni's suggestions, i.e. opinions. This however, does actually work: I've said, "You know you're pretty cool....for a girl!" Typically, not always, she'll lock you up and grin; then "Almost cool enough to go out with....ALMOST." You'll find out fast if she's at all interested. If she is she'll start validating herself.

Literally, the way I got my crush to go on a date with me was I called her and said, in that low-and-slow tone, "I'm calling to tell you: I really like you, and I want to take you out for dinner and drinks tomorrow night. Is that something you'd be interested in?" Would've done it in person, had our schedules not been total messes at the time (we mostly saw each other in person at work, only, and on-shift wasn't the best time to ask a girl out.)

Translation: Do NOT directly tell a girl you like her. Tell her what you want to do with her in a flirty way or a direct and confident way. You have to keep a woman guessing a bit. When she goes out of her way to show you and tell you that she likes you can reward her with a little extra attention and occasionally (rarely) express that you like/love her. She is the cat and you are the ball of string. The moment that you stop pulling that ball of string away, she'll be bored and gone. It is just the way it is guys. I know you want to tell her you like her if you find her attractive. Don't do it.

Great Video! I love your stuff Marni. I have the F formula, a lot of it is stuff I do naturally which is encouraging. But the stuff I don't do naturally is far from simple. For one it's not a 3 step process it's a 3 x 4 step = 12 step process, so: 1.) That's incredibly overwhelming to think about memorizing 12 steps or 3 segments when on a date with a woman or just out at a social event, when you really need to just be present. 2.) If these aren't things that do come naturally the real problem is: WHY does it NOT come naturally? Since flirting is intended to show sexual confidence, if that confidence is lacking, the answer is not to memorize a 12 step process but to go inward and try to correct some things and build that confidence to which I don't believe there is a short cut to. So I do think the F Formula is a great case study to understand what's going on between two people when attraction is building or what maybe is going or what went wrong when attraction is dying or dead. That way it's not so confusing when things don't "work out". However as a learning tool "to get better results" I wish there was a simpler way of learning the material to chunk it down so it can be paired with confidence building in the areas that are lacking. Maybe that should be your next product Marni, I would endorse it :)

This might work after you're already. But expressing to much turns her off if shes not giving the same expression. Woman like to express first or they run away if you start expressing feeling first most times. Feelings that are unclear are more attractive to woman according to many studies. Before you're in a relationship its important to not show you are more invested and care more than her. You can say you're interested in dating after speaking awhile tho obviously. However, the text thing is fine tho. Being assertive is key tho i will agree. Chasing to much is not good.
