I gained a whole new level of respect for The Miz after that story. He could have got into a lot of trouble with his peers (or even the office) for skipping the fancy dinner to hold his own one for the writers instead. I wonder if he's that kind to the other wrestlers and employees because of how much he was put through the ringer when he came in by people like Benoit who just viewed him as the 'reality TV guy' and didn't know that he really, genuinely wanted to be a pro wrestler.

The Bobby Lashley one is interesting because I remember hearing a different story about why he was released. At the time, he was dating Krystal, who was in that storyline with Teddy Long where they got married and Teddy had the heart attack during the ceremony. Krystal was released from her contract like 2 or 3 weeks after that. And the story was that Bobby didn’t appreciate how she was let go like that in the middle of a huge storyline and he complained about it. Apparently, either he asked for his release or he was fired (not sure which one). But the story about his Wrestlemania pay dispute really doesn’t make sense tbh. I think the story about him taking up for his girlfriend at the time makes more sense. Plus, he was inactive during the time he was released because he was going through an injury. And his release happened almost a whole year after Wrestlemania, so I find it hard to believe that Vince would wait that long to release him if was truly complaining about money.

@michael435673 ай бұрын
@@CasualVideoGamer but it's common sense. It's not crazy to think there's a set amount of ice packs. And I think there's more than one reason. Like others have said, I don't think it's a good look for a newbie to be iced up when they've only had a handful of matches. Their bodies must adapt to the soreness. Same idea as not giving a kid a band aid for every single cut or scratch they get.
@CasualVideoGamer3 ай бұрын
@@michael43567 except most folks that get into WWE already spent years on the independent circuit. Very small handful of them go from off-the-street to WWE itself (though that number will no doubt grow). It's not like these people literally just had their third or fourth match. It's like telling an NFL player not to get a massage cause they've only played one game with the NFL - though spent several years playing in middle/high school and college. In my opinion, it's an idiotic sense of gatekeeping that honestly does more harm than good - especially when there's no reason this company couldn't afford to have enough ice packs for their roster. And if that IS the case that they can't, then they need to let go of the excess fat. If you can't take care of your talent, you don't need them.

@@CasualVideoGamer well yeah I mean the fresh meat. Guys like Seth Rollins who had an abundance of experience before wwe should be allowed ice packs. I had the honor if of interviewing Chris Masters in 2008 on my podcast. He told me he also had a bad case of food poisoning the day of his match with Stevie Richard, which would make that match even more pressured.

Gotta love how Shawn Michaels' back was too injured for him to work between 98-02, even though he was running a wrestling school, but as soon as that contract ran out he was amazingly healed and ready to go again... funny how that works lol

No ice-packs if you're new? Nah im good. I'll do what i want. Do you know my medical history? In fact better yet, stopping me from taking care of myself whether i have a medical history or not? That's crossing the line into beyond fists.

That Tommy Dreamer story is wild. Could you imagine if Dreamer actually succeeded in those plans at WrestleMania 17? One of the greatest WrestleMania's ever could have been the darkest and unfinished event ever

Respect to the Sandman for getting fit again so quickly and being able to take part in the event. I had an overdose myself 3 times (2 x fentanyl and 1 x morphine) and afterwards I felt like I had been hit by a bus. I'm lucky that, apart from a few consequential damages (e.g. severe nerve pain, difficulty concentrating, difficulty finding words, problems with my short-term memory, etc.), I got through everything okay. Luckily, my kidneys have recovered from the acute kidney failure and rhabdomyolysis, so I don't need dialysis and the muscle edema has also completely healed. I can also walk again, something I wasn't quite able to do, especially with the second and third overdoses. I walked very short distances but had to hold on, but for long/longer distances I had to rely on a wheelchair. So I definitely wouldn't have been able to go back to work on the same day. I'm working in elderly care. So it's really unbelievable that the Sandman went back to his job on the same day, which isn't the easiest, huge respect. English is not my native language, so sorry if there are any mistakes. I hope you still understand everything. Wish everyone a nice day/evening (depending on where you are) 😊🍀
