Even though it's scripted, wrestling is still dangerous, and wrestlers sometimes have to break character so their opponent doesn't get injured.

The amazing thing is how quick they improvise as well. Saving a guy from injury and then pretending you did it so that you can punch or slam them shows amazing presence of mind. Definitely an underappreciated part of wrestling
@moo-snuckle
@moo-snuckle Жыл бұрын
and their blows still seem to land heavy , and they still gotta sell it, and somehow still, in the moment, these split seconds, thats drops, and safety is first. unfortunately not everytime, but if you understand wrestling well enough to recognize something is off script, or spot one of these pro moves in this vid real time, then you can see these guys are lucky these pros were their opponents. and yeah, this aspect of wrestling rarely is appreciated.
@chrishubbard64
@chrishubbard64 Жыл бұрын
Yeah ive seen a few random matches over the year where an opponent will "reverse" some big move to land his own and its fairly clear they saved their opponent from hurting themself. Sometimes you cant really hide the botch, just kind of keep going and hope nobody calls it out, other times an experienced wrestler can make it all flow together so the average viewer never would have guessed they just saved their opponents career.
@ItIsYouAreNotYour

Half of these are straight speculation and mind reading inserted context. Like the dude in the air..."saw he was going to fall on his head and decided to turn! Saving the guys broken neck!" That's not how gravity works. It's more accidental than intentional.
@plant.1374
@plant.1374 11 ай бұрын
@@ItIsYouAreNotYour wdym its not how gravity works? you just saw it with your own eyes and those guys ended up not being injured. its funny because the same exact people who alter the body of the person performing the move are recognizable names, those who have worked with wwe for years, so clearly its intentional because of their experience.

The look on Randy's face when he realized the fate he'd just saved himself from is one I know all too well. Been more than one time where I've come far too close to an unhappy ending. My favorite instance of wrestlers protecting each other is one time when the Undertaker was in some match (can't remember what or with who), he realized that there was chair laying right where someone was about to land. He was on the floor and all he did was flop his foot onto the chair and slide it out of the way. Its my favorite because it's such a tiny thing and Taker made it perfectly look like he was just selling.
@jasonx1174
@jasonx1174 7 ай бұрын
It was during a 6 man tag match on Smackdown. 2 of the men in the match with Undertaker was Big Show and Kurt Angle. At one point Angle went for the Angle Slam on Big Show and it's at that moment that Taker moved the chair with his leg so Big Show wouldn't land on it.

I am a Calgarian and Brett will always be my favourite wrestler but I don’t blame Vince one bit for what he did. Brett was being unreasonable not wanting to drop the belt in his last match. They were in the thick of the Monday night war withWCW and Vice could not let Brett walk in there with the belt. He trusted Alundra Blayze (Medusa) and she took the woman’s belt to WCW and burned it in a garbage can. If that happened with the main WWF belt it would of been the end of WWF. Vice couldn’t let that happen and Brett was being extremely entitled and selfish to try and force the situation like that. Couple of went about it in a better way sure, but it’s not like Brett was listening to reason. He was refusing to lose in Canada.

so im super astounded at the strength and skill of being such quick thinkers to be able to rescue their opponent from something at the last second. but this vid has me also wondering how somehow, i still love wrestling despite being able to see theres no real competition involved, instead its a dramatic bit of choreography that they have to alter, or improvise, and they still somehow make the blows seem to land, and keep the pace going, and everything else involved. despite being aware of all this, for some dumb reason i still love wrestling, and i cant really explain why lol

5k for a near death experience is a slap in the face, Gangrel was owed further compensation. Gangrel also deserved a push/title run for his excellent in-ring ability, and after almost being hanged on live TV, it was more than justified.

Never realized that's how Wade got hurt. Makes me happy that he's not only been back the last 2 years in WWE but, he's a legit main roster commentator, and he absolutely makes Michael Cole, who we've heard FOREVER, a lot more enjoyable/bearable
