Tbh same, Geforce Now stomps on any competitor (discluding Stadia because that oofed itself big time). In fact its so good and cheap publishers are leaving out because they want to stay greedy.
@TheGauges420
@TheGauges420 4 жыл бұрын
@@acoolrocket well, that IS somewhat understandable, because you gotta imagine Nvidia charges whatever they charge for the Geforce Now, and I guarantee they want to keep over 50% to pay for the machines needed to keep the servers up and all, and the game developers are in the long run making less money per subscription, than they make on each game sold, if you put all your effort into making a game that you knew would release at $60 msrp, netting say only a $2 profit per copy sold (obviously more for digital copies), and sure Geforce Now ONLY deals with digital copies, but imagine that to make the same amount of profit somebody has to actually keep the subscription going for some period, if someone cancels their subscription after the first month, well then the developer only made maybe $0.20 on that subscription sale for that month, instead of the $2 they would have made selling the game outright. And sure you can argue "$1.80 is nothing they're still making profit" well, when games regularly sell 2 million-10 million copies, that $1.80 adds up to be an extreme amount.

wow... I just got my Xeon yesterday and see this same CPU today. great! I also did a budget build like this, but I got no pc case to save money (diy no-tool-required-box-computer lol, recycled anti-flame material). The build altogether cost me $100.95 including tax and shipping. gtx 960 2gb + 128gb ssd + 250 gb hdd. It sounds cheap only because I didn't spend money on the case, and I obtained an old Dell PSU and two pc fans for free.

Oh it's fantastic now. As long as you have a decent 5GHz wifi connection, it's good to go even on your phone. It really can't be used for every game. But for the extremely taxing games like Rise and Shadow if the Tomb Raider which I play. I use the free version for my case, and it definitely has helped me cause my sister has been using my PC to edit for my mother and her job(my sister gets paid and my but has no choice). So, I play it on my phone with my PS4 controller and playing Tomb Raider for 1 hour is all I need. So, try it out. But like I said, a 5GHz network WILL be needed. If you don't have good internet then it's pretty much not good. It wouldn't matter if you play from the 720p 30fps to the 1080p 60fps(they allow you to set what you want in the settings). All settings need a 5GHz connection. It's just the way it connects. I am gonna try an OTG USB3.0 to Ethernet adapter on my phone and try it on other networks(other than my home's) that have bad WiFi yet good internet through ethernet. So, give it a try. The free version(as far as I know) on a network connection level is no different from the paid versions. You'll have to wait in a que line before joining a server to play, but that's honestly doesn't matter as much and the wait times for the games I play never take too long. Honestly, it's really changed things. It still has issues. But it's way better than before.

it depends how good your wifi is for example if you have really slow wifi or a lot of latency it will be really bad to play but if you have like >50mbps speeds with decent latency it feels almost the same as playing normally

Awesome video, Matt. It looks like you optimized your component picks really well. The Xeon is a great find, and tbh, powerful graphics cards in that price bracket are hard to find. I see some people in the comments asking "If we have some extra dough on hand, what should we spend it on?" Well, if you've got a $50-$100 more to drop on a component, use that on the graphics card! You can pick up a GTX 1060 3GB on eBay for ~$120, or pick up an RX 480 for ~$100. If you've got anything left over, I'd grab an SSD for quality of life, or another 8GB of RAM. You could upgrade the CPU to a Xeon with hyperthreading, but I think the upgrade would be better spend on a graphics card, RAM, or an SSD since most games won't make use of the hyperthreading. Again, excellent content, Matt.

4th gen/LGA1150 i7's are still nuts expensive ($100+ on eBay), but that said they've held onto their value well as far as performance (IMO the whole iCore series has, as long as you're careful with your budget parts picking)...if you were starting from scratch you could do better to go Ryzen, but if you're already on an 1150 board (like me) and have to do budget, incremental upgrades (also like me) then it's a bit more justifiable to stick around. Plus, and again, given that value the 4th gen holds on to, if you DO want to make a big leap forward, assuming you've got a decent board like an Asus Z97e or something, you can get a lot of $$$ out of it on the secondary market, more if you include the CPU, but you'll still come away alright if you part it out.

If it's not too much trouble, could you recommend a $500- $800 budget build WITHOUT including a graphics card? I upgraded my old rig to a RX 590, but the cpu burned up and as dated as the motherboard and ddr3 ram is, I might as well build fresh instead of trying to replace parts. So now I want to build a new pc around my GPU, my biggest worry is about compatability and having a powerful enough PSU

That is a great budget pc, but i have a rig you might want to try out if the prices are good in your region, for arround maybe 200-250 dollars. I5 3570 (20 bucks) Rx 580 4gb (120 bucks) 8gb ddr3 ram (20 bucks) Now i know there will be a bit of a bottleneck by that cpu, but i just live with it and its not that big of a deal seriously. For 200 dollars you can play all the newest games in 2020 at 60+ fps 1080p with high-ish settings.

AstroJade that’s your problem, reducing power to the cpu using throttle stop is causing it to power limit. If the laptop thermal throttles normally then I would suggest cleaning it out, re pasting it

Anyways, in this video I see that this 200$ system is able to run fortnite at 100fps average. But my 300$ system with better specs can't run at 80 with the lowest settings. Any thoughts as to why this is happening?
