Had a new 2001 Corvette Z06 Speedway White/ RED- black interior, sold in 2020 with app 76,000 miles. It was always a blast to drive. The trunk could easily fit 2 fully loaded golf club bags & /or luggage for two & accessories for a 2 week trip.

I'm 75, instruct HPDE, have Sparco race seats(equal protection for passenger) I dive in head first. No problem. When I instruct supercars, I tell the tall guys to get in like I do. they grunt and groan. LOL

This is now 2022, and unless you found a Z06 that is beat the holy hell, 13 to 15,000 will never happen. Or, someone is filing bankruptcy and needs the money and or this is a auction of some sort. I just bought an 03 Z06, 62,000 miles, almost pristine condition for $29,900. Electron metallic blue, 1272 made in this color.

I bought my C5Z 4 years ago for $20k with 28k miles. You can't beat the performance for the price. Also, the resale of these cars are becoming much more diverse, the young cats are buying them up and upgrading everything. Fun car, I love mine

I can't wait to get my 2004 Z06 out of storage, I fall back in love again with it every spring, it's like an old friend or a family member you have been away from and waiting to see for years. What a classic.

I bought my '04 C5 Z06 a year after selling my A/C Shelby Cobra (Backdraft... replica). The Cobra had an all-aluminum 427 Windsor stroker (612 hp/615 ft-lb torque). It scared the crap out of me from the day I bought it til the day I sold it (8 years later). I loved it, but it was exhausting to drive. Between the exposure (no roof or side curtains), the wind buffeting, and the noise/heat from the sidepipes, you were exhausted after an hour. The Z06 is just as fun to drive... FAR more practical... FAR more comfortable... and FAR more economical. Mine was lowered as well. I scrape the frame backing out of the driveway... so will raise it back up a smidge. It's surprising how docile it is around town, but as you lay further into the pedal, it just takes off like a rocket. It's also nice to be able to get 30+ mpg on the freeway on a long cruise.

The interior catches a lot of flack for being creaky and poor quality. You don’t notice the interior build quality when your apexing a corner at over 1g

I own a 2003 Z06 in red, I absolutely love it. Daily drive my car because its fun. I am well aware of the value and performance. All around awesome car.

The 2001 z06 by GM’s claims would run 4.0 to 60 and 12.6 in the quarter mile at 113 mph. At 171 mph the z06 runs out of 5th gear due to it’s shorter M16 transmission. 6th gear was too tall for anything other than fuel economy.

Will always love the C5(I've owned 4, 2x hatchbacks, a convertible and a hardtop). Bargain of the century in terms of performance. My 99 FRC has a stroked 402, Vortech T-trim and 3.90 gears. Just about the perfect setup for the street.

Bought a silver '04 back in July after plenty of research including this video. Have put 8k incredible (and hard) miles on it since then and it is not my daily. Supercar performance with economy car convenience and reliability, and timeless style, it's perfect

I had a 2000 camaro for 10 years and don’t I remember it being this low lol. My 02 z06 sits super low. I’m 39 and have chronic back problems so this thing can be a challenge to get out of at 6’3”... 😅 but that chin air scoop scrapes on leaves. 😖😖

Just sold my c7 Grandsport and bought an 03 z06. While the c7 is obviously a nicer car, my old z06 is 50 times more fun to drive lol. No regrets considering I paid about 50k less than the grandsport.

I have a 1999 C5 Coupe and a 2003 C5 Z06.....I love them both......and both are in Torch Red.....

Got an S2000 but considering few other things C5 Z06 and C6 Z06 are two of 5 options I am considering. The value no these is crazy. My reasoning for C6 Z06 would be the aluminum frame vs steal. To me, rust is the biggest enemy to cars, everything else can be fixed or replaced easily. Great video guys!

This 65 year old man has owned an 03 C5 Z06 since 2012. She's built and has 590 RWHP, she's also lowered about 3/4 of an inch so I have a hard time getting in and out. LOL

I enjoyed my c5 z06. That was a wonderful raw racecar experience that I daily drove it at 7 mm s lower than stock ride height. I did headers, cam, 373 getreg gears, short throw sifter...mine put out 485 hp and it was quick. My new vette is a 2020 torch red /black c8 z51 fe4. I daily them. Btw the plastic lip under the car is hinged to scrape but not break off...just turn the music up ..;) great car. One of my favorites

You guys listed off almost everything that makes me want this car. Having all the tech where I want it, barely any (read: driver nannies) where I don't (with exception to the TC/ABS which I DO want); the simplicity, the balance... I drive an NB Miata right now and hope to step up to one of these, in that ubiquitous pewter color GM slapped on everything (like my highschool car, a '98 Monte Carlo, hence my desire for it)....... question though, how long do you have to look for a clean C5 Z06 for $15k? Every trip to eBay and Hemmings brings up a bunch for $19 - $30k. Haven't found my holy grail yet...

I drive mine I summer just Saturdays my c5 Z06 rides like a baby smooth great suspension even though is 650hp the reason I drive it on summer and on some Saturdays is exactly that is to low and getting in and out is hard because I'm 65 and I have bad knees and back

I got my 2003 Z06 when it was new. Great car, EXCEPT, what I thought was the handling. Always felt sloshy no matter what I did. Got the T-1 sway bars with C6 Z06 end links and nothing. Lowered it as low as it could go using it's own adjustable ride height bolts, again, nothing. Took off the transverse leaf springs and had them install the 5-way adjustable Bilstein coilovers, set them to the firmest setting and lowered it even more, but nothing. THEN, I redid the interior, had the upholstery guy completely redo the seats by welding in side bolsters and using extra firm foam. All of a sudden, the car was on rails! So the GM crap seats were the problem all along. Change the seats to something firm and BOOOOM! It's a totally different car!

Im 27, just bought a 2001 Z06 with cams and head done. Why? Because you live once. I don't need to be 50 to have a midlife crisis. I decide when I die goddamnit!

You didnt mention hold the traction control down for more than 5 seconds and you get competitive driving mode turns off drive line traction control and keeps individual wheel braking for cornering 01 Z06 owner for 1 week torch red with red and black interior 30kmiles also like the fact most have low milage and the 1st to 4th shifting

People who bitch about the interior/comforts on this car? Completely miss the point. it’s about the drive. nothing better than blasting down the interstate at felonious speeds with targa top off and the pipes roaring.

They said, that one is very linear through the RPMs and even gave the example of NO change like a cam and a Power Band! All testing shows that there is a power band around 3800 RPMs and mine is around 3,700 RPMs and it feels like turbos kicking in, I can even break the rear tires loose in 3rd gear laying into it at that RPM and it rips the tires loose through 1st and power shifting into 2nd! But, even with the stock T like shape handle on the shifter I have been leery of power shifting into 3rd! My only complaint? The Nurburgring isn't outside my front door! ¿`_

I've got mine almost exactly where I want and most people compliment it, but I have had two people suggest the front end was not low enough! Now when did you ever expect to hear that!? Sometimes, you're just thinking, how can I do this with making the LEAST amount of damage!? ¿`_

The red matches my MAGA hat perfectly and unlike my midlife crisis ‘04 screaming yellow Cobra conv, the hardtop would prevent my MAGA hat from flying off and getting my bald spot burned. Ample trunk room is good too, as it will hold enough luggage and Cialis for the cougar or Twin Peaks lady accompanying an old white man wearing aviators to the Jimmy Buffet concert if he can find it.
