Did this on my 2014 3yrs ago On jackstands and the garage floor didn't have a lift took a little longer lol.. Then I traded it in for a 2018 Jeep Wrangler...and now i have a 2016 ram sport getting ready to do the 3" leveling kit once again...still don't have a lift wish me luck!!..lol🤣🤪👍

if anybody is curious, this kit actually fits every Ram 1500 from 1994-2018. so every 2nd gen, 3rd gen, and 4th gen 1500.

For any one wondering, like I was, this is a pain in the ass and you need spring compressors. Once you put pressure on the springs it lifts the truck off jack stands. Springs will be your only fight and I would recommend getting a cheap set of compressors cuz I had to take the grinder to my rented ones... gave me 40in in the front and 37 in the back but also have a lumber rack and tool boxes. I have 2011 lone star compression might not be necessary on other models but wouldn't count on it, good luck

So I just tried this today, did not work out for me so far. I'm going to take a trip to the parts store and take another swing at it in a few days. Here's what I got stuck on - getting the coil out. You weren't kidding, that is a bee-otch. The problem I was running into was I don't have a jack that'll lift the truck high enough to allow me to lower the control arm low enough to achieve the angle to get the coil out. the lower control arm was maxing out the angle I could achieve against the ground. In order to lift it higher I would need to put the suspension back together, put it down on it's wheels and reposition my jack stands. I could do all that and I could potentially get the coil out but to get it back in place with a spacer packed on top of it afterward would not work. I attempted this just in my driveway with a set of tools I had in the garage. Undoing all the nuts for the connecting components was actually pretty easy and I was moving along through that faster than I thought it'd take. The hardest bolts to break loose were actually the brake caliper bracket bolts. That and undoing the ball joint took a few swings of a hammer. I got it to come out with a standard carpenters claw hammer. Used a block of wood so I wasn't hitting directly against the metal. Just need the truck higher than a standard floor jack would lift and I could probably get it done. Also, I did get a spring compressor set to try to compress the coil, it was pretty useless!!! The kind that latch onto the outside of the spring just would not fit into the space you have to work with very well at all. I'm going to try to get one of the ones that run up through the inside of the coil in the center and try again.

Yes it can be done with no special tools. Did it alone. Ratchet strap is the most important tool!!

Sounds like your end goal is gonna be bad ass!! Great minds think alike. I've also just got some venom power terra hunters xt (305/55/20) on 20x12 wheels with a -51 offset and they look mean as hell. As far as the spindles, they are sooooo much better than the spacer!! Back to factory ride quality. With my the 3" spindle lift I still get some rubbing on the front wheel wells on the back side, not the front. It's more than likely the aggressive -51 offset of my wheels (if I remember correctly, like almost 5" of poke). The VP TH XT are little noisy on the road, but hey! I can deal with that. For me... 3" spacer = 0 out 5, 3" spindle lift = 5 out 5. Hope this helps. Good luck with build my friend.

Leveling kits are funny. I ran 😂 I like that my vehicles a little higher in the back because when I run my trailers heavy my truck is level and that's better for control.

I like how you show everything you do but not putting in the part..:) And you do it the hard way.. Didn't get much here :) BUT.. you did describe that 3" will tip you slightly higher, and I put on 2" and it's slightly.. Not enough.. So You answered my question.. Either I Have weak springs or something heavy up front that requires me to go to a 2.5 inch lift, to get it completely level Not sure If I'd help someone else out who is wondering why there is a 2" a 2.5 and a 3" .... I'd say, in my case, 2" is just a little shy of correct, 2.5" is what i'm going to need.

My 2003 1500 and it doesn’t have front springs on the front, it only has the front shocks. Can I put in springs and shocks without changing the arms?

Awesome video, tear down smooth as silk, now came the installation OMG what a nightmare with or without spring compression. 3 hours on one side gave up. Went back stock. Took the truck to a mechanic that specializes in mods as such. Now in the second day. Will keep yall posted.

I want to do a leveling kit on my 2014 Ram 1500 2wd the front sits at 36" and the rear sits at 39" would i need a 2.5" or 3" leveling kit ?

It would probably help if you'd actually show putting the spacers in. I didn't see any spacers. I know some say you did for video sakes but I didn't see them. Great video but I'd like to see you actually installing spacers.

Excellent video love how to took the time to show an explain every detail to removing an installing .. I’m about to attempt this tomorrow on my 2002 ram 1500 rear wheel drive truck 2 door regular cab short box.. I bought a set of 3 inch supreme leveling spacers new coils an new shocks front an rear !!! Can’t wait to see how she sits An rides when done !!! If you have any additional advice or suggestions for me I’d certainly appreciate it !!! Oh an ya I bought a coil spring compression tool as well to help the job go a little easier 👍👍👍👍

I just bought a 2018 RAM 1500 2wd on monday, I wanted a 4WD but with this being my first ever vehicle purchase it wasn't in my budget. My question is, it says 2002-2015 RAMs so I'm just wondering if it would fit on my 2018? Because I've been told yes and no so I just want a definite answer so I don't waste money.

So for this 3-inch leveling kit, would I have to buy spacers if I was to put on 35x12.5x20

so what size shock would you recommend to run with this 3inch Leveling kit because reusing the old shock is not a good idea nor good enough for suspension travel ?

I wish I would've done more research!!!! I had these installed and ride quality is garbage. I understand you sacrifice some ride quality for looks, but I ain't sacrificing it to that degree. I've had them on for 2 months and only drove my truck a handful of times. I upgraded my upper control arms at the same time I had spacers installed. I've already bought 3 inch spindle lifts and having them installed in a day or 2. I'll see how those go in a few days and report back.

You do realize the the 02-05 1500 don't have coil springs in the front they have torsion bars

You didn't even put the spacer in, all you did was re-install the spring with the stock rubber isolators.

After I had these installed My truck still sits lower in the front.

I call bs on that jack compressing the coil spring, they must have gave up and edited it out.

Now show me how to do it with the truck not on a lift! 😂

Don’t buy for your eco diesel. There is no way they put in a spacer on in the video. I had to use spring compressors to get the truck back together without the spacers once I found that there was no way the springs would go in with the spacers installed. They got my money!

you know, i was about to order this shit but, all the comments are crap. To recap this 3" spacer your gonna have a rough ride, need bigger shocks AND,....upper control arms otherwise your truck is going to ride like crap. If you want to save money then buy rough country kit with arms and spindles. Yea its a crappy brand but your going to spend the money one way or another. Why do they sell this then tell you your going to need spindles and shocks, in other words 600 extra dollars.

A 3" lift with factory length shocks isn't a good idea...reusing the old factory length shocks is an even worse idea.
