You probably want too pull your intake an clear it out of any debris as well .Chances are debris is up in it as well.Really thou if you know the cylinder sleeve didn't take kindly to having that bouncing around in their for any length of time. As well the piston head will. Continue deterating. This we know.

Hello. I have a 01 SLT 4.7 Quad 4x4 w/ nearly 300k kms. I've owned her for 2.5yrs. I'm thinkin to change the plugs and am looking for suggestions on which type to use? Her mileage isn't the greatest, avg 19.4L/100km, mostly in town. She's noticeably better on the hwy but that's not where I do the majority of my driving. I'll clean the throttle body while I'm at it. I don't know if I should mess with the Injectors or not. Haven't looked into what's involved yet w/ testing and possibly cleaning them. But I figure I can't go wrong w/ starting at the plugs. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

I always prefer the oem or oem equivalent plugs. You can ask at a parts store what the suggested OE plugs are. I personally think plugs don't matter too much. The only brand I would not get is Autolite. Sometimes they get brittle and break. I wouldn't replace Injectors unless you have to

@@MechanicalMike Ok. Thanks for the advice. If I decide to check on the injectors it would be just to clean them if needed. There's nothing in the way she runs that suggests I have a problem that may warrant replacing them. Nothing really to suggest that they might benefit from a cleaning either other than the age of the truck. I suppose the condition of my plugs may hint toward whether or not it's worth looking at the injectors as well. Would that make sense?

Piston is aluminum . How did you get that to stick to a magnet? Try again.
