In a pinch you can also go through the splash shield behind the tire. Pop some clips off and bend the plastic back and they show nicely. In the event your on the road and dont have tools to take out the battery.

Thx for the WD40 tip (mine was stuck too) and the high/low beam stock number difference. I pulled out the high beam by accident and only realized it because you mentioned the difference. Yeah, it took me way more than 10 minutes but grandma did it by herself and saved $35 which Honda was going to charge! And NAPA and Auto zone declined to do mine. Thx!

The light is very hard to turn without removing the wire clip first, at least on my 2004 Accord. There seems to be a tab that the clip can't get past without removing from the light

Thomas Mallory, if you watched our "How to clean your engine bay by nutzaboutbolts", we used purple power and armor all protectant to keep our engine bay clean. I hope that helps.

There is no need to remove the battery. You can simply pull the inner fairing back and reach up into headlight assembly. You may have to pop out some plastic rivets holding the fairing in. Once exposed reach in and grab the light socket assembly. Twist left and it should come right out. If not, spray some WD-40 on it to loosen. This is a 10 minute job.

Damn your engine bay looks mint. I have an 04 with the 3.0L V6 and its all rusted and the plastic has all faded. Salted roads and horrible winters I guess do that to a car, even though I park mine in a garage.

I replaced my headlight low beam (9006) bulbs on my 2007 Honda Accord EXL 2.4L yesterday (08/12/2015) and it took me only :10min to replace BOTH bulbs. You're reading right only :10min to do both. I replaced the passenger side bulb thru engine compartment like you did BUT without the need to spray WD-40. For the Driver side, I DON'T take the battery out but instead I replaced it thru the driver side front wheel FAIRING cover by removing the two pins using the small flat screw driver. I just then pulled back the fairing cover to access the white connector. Pulled the connector down and turn the bulb COUNTER-CLOCK WISE to take out the bulbs. The all process took me only :10min. Save yourself a lot of time by not taking out the battery, and must reset your clock, radio etc.... I replaced with Warner Brite Light bulbs from Amazon cost $24.00 set and it claimed 80% brighter than OEM. I will make a video to show people that it only takes :10min to do, not 3hrs or half the afternoon to do, and don't need to use WD-40.

Worked great for me -- thanks! I got under the car to attempt to go through the wheel well (as suggested by some previous commentators) but couldn't figure out what/how I needed to remove. So I went back up top, took out the battery, and was able to replace the driver's side headlight bulb in just a few minutes. Thanks!

To replace the driver side low beam bulb you do not have to remove the battery... or remove the fender liner (risk of fender paint, liner, and clips damage)! 1) See that small shiny black box in front of the battery? Easy to remove by prying the two pins holding it to the frame. There is a short tube connecting it to the tube below - pull that loosly fitting short tube out as well. 2) Loosen the battery clamp cross member enought to twist and remove the rods hooked to the battery tray and the cross member. (Leave the battery cables attached to save your electronic settings!) 3) You should be able to slightly lift the battery tray (the bottom plastic tray) and battery slightly and move it back an inch or two. (The tray has nubs that keep it from sliding around.) 4) You've now opened up enough space to reach the low beam bulb. Use a flashlight for visibility.

If it's tight it's because there is no slack in the electrical harness. Disconnect the harness first then it will be easy to turn.

how do I adjust the headlights for proper height and aim?

So yeah, I've been having a super hard time changing this bulb. The owner's manual sucks, stating to just rotate the assembly. But, looking at it, you can't do that...it looks like I will have to unscrew the three screws, and THEN rotate? Is that correct? (see "sdimas73" post, 4 days ago).

Wow the housing is VERY corroded on my GFs accord, felt like I was gonna break it, so I google it just to make sure and came across this. I was changing it in the dark so I didn't see corrosion until after I watched the video.

I also found the the air conditioning line was in the way. You cant just push it out of the way like you did. You can damage the a/c line by bending it or cracking it

I was able to get passenger high beam out and both low beams working so I go to change high beam on driver side and after replacing high beam on driver side I go to check to see if both sides are working and found both low beam and high beam on driver side no longer works. What happened? Is there a separate fuse for low beam and high beam on each side?

Just did it last night on my 2005. Autozone wouldn't change that one because it is too hard to get to. I ended up going through the fender by popping out the 2 clips. It's pretty simple. It is better to unclip the wiring socket from the bulb while the bulb is still being held in place, since you can't really get a second hand in there to hold the bulb. Likewise, install the new bulb before reattaching the wire because you won't need to hold the bulb. Note: put the fender clips in a safe place because I stepped on one and broke it. The fender liner is still firmly in place with one clip, but I should still replace the missing one.

I could not get the connector to twist left or right and I could not get the connector off the bulb by pressing the tab on the high beams on both driver and passenger side even after using WD40.

Hello all - I replaced my low beam headlamps today and only took about 5 minutes to do. I have a 2003 Honda Accord. I DID NOT remove the battery when I replaced the driver side. I pulled the inner fender cover away from the fender bumper and removed/replaced the bulb using that method.

My driver side bulb was gone and I replaced it. But let me warn you, this is not easy as it looks. It took me an hour to replace the driver side including battery removal. Hardest part was disconnecting the wire harness because there is so little room. Once you remove the harness it is easy. You better have very strong back and wrist and fingers. I gave up on passenger side after 10 minuets as it was so tight and won’t move . I was completely exhausted. Will give it one more shot after few days.

mine are screwed in with 3 screws each that i just cant get, theres no space for a screwdriver so even though i have been able to change them it is 100x more hassle because the previous owner decided to screw all of them in

I manage to replace both right bulbs by "destroying" the latch holding the electrical connector to the bulb ass'y, using a screw driver then push down ( need a fairly large and long screw driver ). I then ground the lip on the new bulb so next time I don't have to deal with the %$#% latch - straight pull down will disconnect the socket. I was lucky that I was able to just twist the outer (low) bulb without loosening the 3 screws for the outer one. If needed, you have to use a stubby screw driver.

I couldn't get either bulb removed and my hands are big. Couldn't grip shit. I've changed headlights before in other vehicles. This is by far the most difficult.

If you don't want to remove the battery and finish the job with just a flat head screw driver and do it in 5 minutes....just refer to the owners manual. You can access the bulb right from the drivers side wheel well. Remove 2 clips, pull the plastic shroud out of the way and you'll see the bulb. Super simple.

He is supposed to say. Take the connector out first by PUSHING the plastic tab button and PULLING the connector out. Then rotate the bulb base COUNTERCLOCKWISE by a quarter turn and that should unlock it. All his worthless descriptions "turn left", "loosen it" , "there you go" does not help.

Not very helpful. Lots of camera views of arms and hands but no hints on how to distinguish low beam from high beam bulbs. As for tight connections and how to loosen them - again - lots of views of forearms and hands - but no close up of what was actually being done. Thanks for the effort but I am going to have to look at a few more videos.
