Hey friend. Thanks for all the response to your series. I pulled my oil pan and was getting ready to but my kit but decided to do a pressure test and my water is coming from the very from of the crankcase. Mines probably going to be the water pump which looks like death lol. It's the most rusted part I've ever seen. My pump is right under the alternator. Looks like a real fun job if you know what I mean. Guaranteed to snap a few bolts.

LOL. your so lucky it was the water pump. i think you need one of those sideways style wrenches to get the water pump off. looks like it wont be that easy. i havent done one yet. you should make a video

@@curtisnstacey Thank you, my uncle was telling me about them this morning I’m out here in Gaston and I can’t find no one who would come cut the block for me on-site. They all want me to tow it to them and the tow bill 💵 ain’t looking pretty lol 😂 looks like I might end up taking out the whole block and then bringing probably to stones

Yeah I'm making one. The dang parts was the worst part of the job. Sent me a pump without the oil ring. I finally found a good manual from manual monkey. A parts page finally showed an exploded view of everything making if much easier than anticipated. Broke a few bolts, rounded one completely...that took most of a day to get the right extractor lol. Still I'd do 5 of these instead of what you did

@@curtisnstacey I'm going to make an extensive video on it. There's hoses with pipes that don't want to go on. Your smart enough to figure it out but we don't all have to go to the school of hard knocks . It'll be excessively long but many hours less than just guessing

Oil has additives that will absorb water to keep it away from moving parts.When it is that saturated that you can drain it out the oil additive package is depleted.If coolant gets below the sensor and shuts the truck down.You can unplug it andnit will run.This will get you off the road and to a place to get more coolant.Watch the temps and do not over heat it.

I’m rebuilding the same motor. It’s in my 2005 western star 4900ex. I got a bunch of video with some shitty editing jobs 😂 on my channel. I gutted my western star engine all the way to the egr cooler and oil cooler. I need to take those out and I’m debating pulling the block and just having someone engine shop rebuild it and I’ll reinstall it. I’m not sure which way I’m going with it yet. Just search my channel for videos uploaded. I also own a Columbia 07 with the exact same motor. I had that rebuilt at the dealer in 2016 for 17k. That included an egr cooler and a new reman had. It has blow by since 5 weeks after the rebuild. But don’t burn oil and oil stays clean for 8k miles of work. You pull the dipstick and it’s gold oil like new. It’s crazy. But the pig has blow by. I can’t explain it and neither can the shop who did the inframe. They said as long as it don’t burn oil or leave puddles it’s fine. A quarter size spot after idling all night is no big deal they said. You think your engine is bad? 😂 You should see the western Star I got and see what I got out of that engine. Mud. Pure mud!

Saw you over on DD . Hope it goes well for you. I’ve heard good things about Interstate McBee parts. Western Truck and Tractor has a lot of good info on his Tube channel. You don’t see much about 14.0 emissions engines. Tons of videos about 12.7s . Liner counterbores seem to need close attention on them. If they need cutting do it. What state are you in? That sand you laying in looks like Eastern N.C. sand. Damn heavy equipment has a thousand ways to break a man’s heart and his wallet.

curtisnstacey I use the ugly fix for the last 5 years and 250k miles. Works great. No issues other then my valve stuck open one morning upon start up. Have a vein turbo code when I hit the Jakes that morning. So I unplugged the ugly fix that night after I shut it off and let engine cool and go into cold start mode in morning. I started it with the factory plug in and let the engine come up to temp. Then I shut it off and switched plugs. It cycled the egr flap and closed it back up. What ever sut was stuck there , wash pushed out. So the ugly fix works great.

@curtisnstacey
@curtisnstacey 4 жыл бұрын
@@kalisterkalister5925 yes it could be the egr. There should be a pipe that comes from the egr and goes across the top of the engine over to the intake side. You can disconnect that pipe and look inside it and see if it's wet. I'f its wet then your egr cooler is leaking. If your losing 2 gallons of coolant a day that's pretty serious and if it is the egr then that hose on the inside is definitely going to be wet.
