Well it's finally over, I'm able to walk away from this truck for a while and hopefully do some easier stuff for the next few weeks. Taking off the intake manifold was a big help as you can see so if your thinking about doing this job I would highly recommend removing the intake before removal.

@ndiboomer The only reason that is an issue right now is because of that Civic parked behind it, normally it's not there and I would have plenty of room to work. That one gets an engine next so it will go away soon. Thanks for the comment.

@qaz3000 I think your referring to a block heater which you may find on cars and trucks in cold climates. The cold makes things thick and less likely to move correctly, also batteries don't work as well when they are cold so between those 2 things it's hard to get a car started from stone cold to running again.

@acttacus That is good to know because I looked for the adjuster under the steering wheel and by the trans and didn't find it, the shift cable on this truck runs along the frame rail and then up by the gas tank so I really couldn't see anywhere for the adjustment where I looked. I'll be sure to look tomorrow though as I'm fixing the exhaust and going over it before I send it on it's way. Thanks for the tip.

@findtmoon I'm totally OK with it as long as it constructive not accusatory. The reason I took the intake off for the install was per suggestion by some of the viewers. I realize that I'm not the be all end all and I'm just fine with that so benefiting from the wisdom of my viewers is just fine with me.

@nizmojoeblows If it's fuel injected it will actually warm up quicker if you drive it, engines really don't like to idle for long periods and in a way it wastes gas. If it's that cold for log periods of time you might consider a block heater as they are great for cold weather like that.

@touchymuffin97 With enough money and time you can do just about anything. The thing with 'modern' engine swaps is that you need to consider if your computer will run the new engine correctly, sometimes you have to change the computer and wiring harness to get that to work.

So I realize this was nine years ago, but I'm just now seeing these. I've seen a lot of your newer vids, but I just did this same swap with a couple friends. Only difference is that there's was 2wd so it was a little bit easier. They gave me the old engine to rebuild and my research on it brought me here. Before I got to this one, I was thinking "why didn't he take the intake manifold off?" Anyway, you've come a long way since then and I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for what you do.

Great videos Eric, love em. Watching you wrestle with the transfer case reminds me of the time I changed the clutch in my 1978 Econoline. It was in my driveway in the late fall. The weather was terrible and I was laying on a blue tarp under the truck holding the transmission up while a couple of guys were above trying to guide and install bolts. A gust of wind shifted and the freezing rain/snow dam that had formed in the blue tarp let go and suddenly yours truly was laying in ice water. Fun!

Eric, I have subscribed for a while, and you dude, just get better and better. I enjoyed this tale so much because you were out of your Honda comfort zone. You were learning the way we learn on the cars we work on as shade tree mechanics. I really appreciate you showing the 'sweat' moments, and don't edit to a 'tadaaah' of triumphs. I'm lovin' it, and I'm stayin' dirty. I hope that all this begins to pay off for you and brings you to a multi bay garage with a lift, one day. Best , Brian
