Truck has new VCT Solenoids (ford Part) Both Banks. It also has 1 new phaser (ford part) on bank 2 only. When the truck gets to operation tempter both phaser appear to get stuck in the position they were commanded to.

Hello I have a 07 f-150 fx2 sport an I tried replacing the solenoid on driver side cause it was leaking oil badly. So after dropping tool down in engine an fishing it out weeks later. I had to take valve cover off to replace it an when putting everything back an the new seals would not fit at all an looks identical to the one I pulled out an is burning oil when I drive down road cause the seals are not on correctly.

Were u trying to replacing the VVT solenoid with out removing the Valve cover and in the process doped the socket into engine? The VVT solenoid seal from a 05-07 are different from the 08 -10 models..

Hello, I have a 2007 F150 with the same issue, how would this be fixed? I get the same codes P0340 and P0344. I have been driving the truck with the VCT sensor disconnected.

First I would like to know what the oil pressure is when the truck is at normal operating temp. should be about 25psi at hot idle. I can refer you to another KZfaq channel to explain it better.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mpZhapiIrb3SZWg.html

Houston tx. The oil pressure was under specs at hot Idle I ended up replacing the eng with a known good junkyard eng.

my 08 did the same thing. i had code p0340 and replaced the pass side cam position sensor. 98% of the issues went away. If I try and feather the throttle then i have low oil pressure. The accelerator likes getting stomped on. So oil pump replacement in my future. Should be the final piece to the puzzle.

I have the same isue 2004 f150 same noice same code Along with the p0011 code One guy told me new engine the other told me change the vct and it should fix the issue. If the engine is below normal oil pressure then i need to swap the engine correct.

I have 2004 f150 getting code p0345 that’s the only code being thrown, I been inside the engine changed the tensioner rods new chains zipped the engine back up primed it and it throwing that code p0345

Did u replace the phasers? And or solenoids was the timing off? What was the reason for timimg chain replacement?

fsteddie98 no I didn’t replace the phasers, I bought a timing kit came with the chains and the sprocket and gasket for the front cover, idk why the timing was off but the bank two guide was broken and the bank 1 tensioner rod was not working, so I replaced both tensioner rods and put the engine back in time sealed everything back up and primed the engine started it and got the p0345 code

When u replaced the chain, guides, and tensioner did u make sure the timing was correct? because there's a good change that the bank 2 was off timing due to the broken guide u found. Also what comes to mind the cam tone ring on the Phaser on bank 2 may have gotten damage some how during reassembly. check out this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oLWaaNp327fFlJs.html

In my case replacing the oil pump would make sense cause the damage has already been done. I had excessive amounts of metal shaving in the Eng oil indicating worn Out cam / crank bearings.

@@jaimegarcia7283 i put 10w40 in it and the engine ran smoother than it ever has. I was astounded. Noticed that in a cold start; you’ll have to let it warm up quite a while so the oil can circulate. I’m in the tropics though so that only happened twice and I just let it idle. 10/10 would recommend. Even sold the truck and the new owner is happy. Stop spending money and try it. If you don’t like it; change it back. Would have saved me hundreds if I’d have started with it.

Left them unplugged. Truck runs like normal, fuel consumption appears normal and the stupid noise is gone.

No it didn't. The truck had low oil pressure at normal operating temperature. I replaced the engine to fix the problem

Mine is a 2008 doing this with p0345 & p0349 I changed the sensor but that didn’t fix the problem.

@@dxta7360 it was a 2008 F150. The eng had lot of metal shaving when I drained some oil for inspection. The customer wasn’t updated with the oil changes making the eng run low on eng oil casing the issue
