Update: This did NOT solve my issues and i ended up having to have the timing chain replaced before an eventual failure happened, with working a regular job and weather being an issue i took it into a local Buick dealership to have them do the work, as it would've taken me 2-3 weeks to tear down and replace on my free time. The cost was around $2300.

Just a note: Was getting a P0023 code (2012 Enclave) engine was chugging slightly = Bank 2 exhaust camshaft position sensor on a 2012 enclave. Royal PITA. Bank 2 exhaust is located just to the left of the Oil fill cap (near top of engine). Unfortunately, it is hidden behind a ton of stuff that needs to be removed to get to it. Heres what it took: Detach negative battery cable from battery. Remove10mm holding ac line near top front. Remove (2) 10mm holding overflow tank (move aside). Remove Fusebox cover. Loosen (2) phillips 10mm bolts (holding fuse wire harness) inside fusebox. Remove (1) 13mm bolt connecting positive battery terminals to fusebox. Unclip and remove fusebox middle part (with fuses) removing wire harness from bottom. Unclip/remove fusebox bottom. Remove (3) 10mm fusebox aluminum baseplate. Unclip wire harnesses from baseplate. Remove front plastic cowling hiding radiator cap. Remove upper radiator hose (both ends) catching drips with bucket below. Remove (2) 15mm engine mount bolts (holding rubber figure 8 mount). Remove (2) 15mm engine mount bolts to completely remove mount part holding big side of figure 8 rubber mount. Slide rubber figure 8 mount out sideways. Remove 10mm ac line bolt down below rubber mount area. Remove (2) 18 mm bolts from part of mount that bolts directly to engine. Remove (1) 10mm camshaft position sensor bolt. Remove sensor. Detach sensor wire clip. Reverse to replace everything. Note: you might want to put a new radiator hose on while you have it off. Refill coolant. Lots of parts to remove - it wasn't that bad once I figured it all out but just a lot of little maneuvering to get such a small part out. I would give yourself 1.5 hours (or more) to remove and 1.5 hours to replace. This same/similar procedure can be used to get to the alternator on this car also.

on the wire connectors , take an L shaped scribe to the leading edge of the plug opposite the tab to disconnect with out damage works well on german plugs as well !!!! hope this helps

Great video. Honestly, After watching this, this will save me close to $500. In fact, Pep Boys wanted to charge me almost $500 to do this. IMO, these shops are full of crooks. I know this because my high school friend owns his own mechanic shop. Its a shame how these POS's exploit people. Especially when they exploit unknowing women.

Hey man were you getting the P0017 code? Mine also says it’s the Bank 1 Position B sensor. Did this solve the problem? My engine runs perfect, no rattle or loss of power. I’m praying it’s just the sensor.

Hey, where there any symptoms for the reason you replaced the sensor? My buick won't start now, it was losing power before it died. The codes that I found on this rig is p0016, 17, 18, 19. p0008, p0009. Just curious if all 4 sensors bad on my rig and maybe why it doesn't start.

Im working on a friends car...he had 22 codes. A few of them pointed to the camshaft sensor. And cylinders 2-4-6 were misfiring. So My guess is it would be the Bank A cam sensor . However he has a 2010, and I can't seem to find the sensors. Is there a difference between 09 and 10? I've looked all over the internet
