I stumble into this channel. Let me tell you, I can see you got the passion an the knowledge it takes to make it here in KZfaq. Love the build a lot, enjoyed the video. Keep it up. This videos are really really immersive and full of content, maybe making it into shorter and more specific, like if it was a tv series instead of a movie will help you have more videos in the end... that’s the way my friend, you got this.

I have a question. I did simillar mods on my 07 gsxr 1k. I did keep my stock pistons, port head and thin head gasket along with web cams. My bike runs hot 195-210 when before it ran into 176-186 degrees. What can you tell me about chages to make it run cooler
@Domscustoms3 жыл бұрын
Make sure to burp the system well and use engine ice coolant. An ecu flash to turn the fans on sooner helps to. 195 to 210 isnt running hot though
@jerryjones2973 жыл бұрын
@@Domscustoms ecu is flashed and fans are set to turn on sooner. I also have burped the system the only thing i have not done was to use engine ice coolant.

@@Domscustoms could not hot lap the bike. It would overflow coolant
@Domscustoms3 жыл бұрын
@@jerryjones297 engine ice helps for sure. Make sure you have a good radiator cap. It shouldn't start overflowing until the temps are up in the high 220s I believe. I've let my bike run when it had stock engine in the heat it got to 220 and never over flowed. That all I can think of

@@Domscustoms that's not bad at all, I've been debating on letting carpenter racing build it or doing it myself for my K5 1000. I've talked to a few people in the gsxr communities and majority told me to keep it stock only because these 1000s have bearing issues on higher hp applications and to just build a busa instead 😥 but fuck it let's do it! why reuse the rings??? why port with the motor right there not covered and all the parts catching the dust. valves shims an every thing... i dont understand the hard work then miss easy stuff
@Domscustoms2 жыл бұрын
There is absolutely nothing wrong with reusing piston rings if there are still good. And absolutely everything I do gets cleaned and or hot tanked before i put it together. Including the head and all parts.
@ericunderwing2 жыл бұрын
@@Domscustoms makes more sense if your cleaning it all anyway. I've always been taught to keep it as clean as you can. An if your spending money form new pistons I would always change the rings out well your there. But then again building a drag motor it will see far less uses between rebuilds... plus I dont know how "new" the old rings are. There are just practices I would always follow. More commonly said as well I'm in here mods...
