Dude, this is awesome. I'm currently sitting in my tahoe after just the end of the nob to the hose broke off. My part actually looks like it'd already an aftermarket part as it's just a nipple, not a weird connector. I took the broken nub out of the pipe, was able to snake hose back onto remaining part over that ridge that you show and tighten clamp. As soon as engine is cold I'll fill with antifreeze and test pressure. You video helped me by basically showing me if I connect to what is left of that nozzle I should be good to go long enough to buy a new part. You rock.

Thank you for your tips. It makes sense. The extra fittings seems like for convenience only when the T-body connector part is as much vulnerable to break anyway. 😊

Personally, based on my experience. The outlet heater hose is probably easiest to just replace the whole hose assembly vs just replacing the T and trying to remove the fitting. The fitting was nearly impossible to break apart in my 2013, so i cut the hose just below the black plastic hose clamp and losing an inch of hose put a bunch of tension on the outlet hose assembly. Im going to add a coupling somewhere halfway through the hose to relieve the tension so it'll still work out ok. But thats just my experience. The inlet hose worked without issue, though. Which is the T that broke on me anyways. I really appreciate the tip, you saved my a*s at 7 pm when i still had more errands to run and it was Saturday night.

Thanks brother! I just experienced the same thing a couple days ago on my Yukon. Got stuck 30min from home, smoking coolant all over, engine overheated. 😞 I replaced the T-connector and removed the metal clamp off the hose and connected it directly. I plan to do the same to the white T-connector. What a crappy point of failure this was. This problem also caused a DTC P308 (cylinder 8 misfire) so I think the coil pack there got damaged by the hot coolant. But thanks again for the hose hack.

Bro cool hack. My Acdia T fittings busted then the quick connectors broke as-well while fixing the hoses SMH. I had enough hose to replaced the Quick connects by just cutting the hoses above the clamps that attach to the thermostat, but I'm going to break the other two clamps per your vid and replace the other two quick connectors. I know those are the only two old quick fittings that are left to replace. BTW I replaced my T fittings with metal and the quick connectors with Gates brand instead of the Dorman because they are noticeably thicker plastic. Lastly as a test run I tried breaking the clamps I cut off with the pliers and it was a no go so I ended up putting them in my Vice in order to smash them a few rounds to finally break them. I'm ordering the other two Gates from Amazon way cheaper than $20 bucks a pop from Oreilys. Again thanks for that hack didn't know that was possible👍🏻

Actually the white and black Tee fittings are different. You made two black ones work, which is fine. But they do come with a slightly different angles of the Tee, to accomodate the metal lines from the rear heater core that approach the Tee's from a different angle. Should use the correct Tee's in the correct position as that will lessen stress when you install the correct Tee in the correct position. The straight non-Tee quick connector like the pickups use are identical because they have no Tee coming off them and are interchangeable with each other, even though from the factory they may well still come white and black. Both heater core metal nippples are 3/4.

@@ERICSDIYGARAGEYes, you made two of the same angle work. But the ideal way is to use the correct angle Tee because the rear lines approach up to the Tee's from slightly different angles, and that will lessen stress on the plastic Tee if the angle is as optimized as possible.
