WRW in his prime would destroy any 2-Handed bowler in the world. The ability he had to repeat shot after shot was absolutely incredible. He would demoralize every bowler he faced head to head.
@NateCraven3182 жыл бұрын
Even though handedness really doesn't matter, I will agree with you that he could out-target almost everyone on tour. He is probably one of the best shotmakers this sport has ever seen.

He actually started using a 2 handed delivery on the PBA50 Tour so he could use a different line than the rest of the bowlers there.

@@NateCraven318 I like how Walter Ray Williams always played right. He didn’t seem that the lane conditions matter too much for him. He just didn’t put a lot of hook in the ball and just aimed for the pocket with tremendous accuracy.

It sounds like you're dumb because Chris was bowling with the same speed Walter was, but he had a lot more revs. The higher rev rate and same speed always equals more power, even if it doesn't carry. Know that when Randy talks about power, he talks about revs.

Those in league play have it so nice and easy. Now take away that house oil and put in pba oil, and remove all resin reactive balls out of circulation, you people will not be able to BOWL SHIT. You won't get high games, you won't be getting your 300 games, but you will be bowling around 150 or less. The change of the lanes from wood to synthetic somewhat is better for the owner, but wood lanes is the best overall. If you can master wood lanes under pba oil rules then synthetic will come along as well. I prefer the part syn and part wood lanes. The combo is unique on its own. Bowling with a hook or a straight with a slight hook does not matter. What matters is accuracy on every shot, and being able to know instantly that the lanes will change by the 4'th or 5th shot, which means you have to make the adjustment. I would say williams and duke are the two best when it comes to accuracy time and time again. Anyway this is my opinion for I am a retired regional pro. I used to buy very good bowling balls for around a hundred bucks, now they are going around near 1 grand for a ball, and they try to sell you all kinds of B.S. needing an arsenal of many balls to play the game. To me it sucks. The best ball that was ever out in the market but got banned was the Columbia yellow dot having a hardness of 58!!!! That ball will match any reactive resin ball any day. Since most lanes now are synthetic, why not bring back the Columbia yellow dot 58 hardness. You don't need all that other bullshit.

I agree with the lanes bit, and a great example is the USBC Masters before and after 2015, in my home town of Green Bay at Ashwaubenon Lanes. Before and after pros and amateurs alike made the USBC Masters pattern and lanes look SUPER easy. Ashwaubenon turned on the difficulty, and the final score was Belmonte 202 to AJ Johnson's 157! LOW scores! For pros to be challenged like that in that environment, which btw was an oldschool bowling alley that is played at frequently by locals, says how hard the sport actually is! I honestly wish both the PBA and USBC go to alleys like ours more often to challenge the bowlers as hard as possible. If I had time to get back into bowling myself, the only equipment I need is thumb tape (cuz my thumb blisters) and a bowling ball more comfortable because I have a 16lb. Urethane ball that just kills my wrist and thumb. The next ball I get is going to be lighter and honestly, I'd probably still go Urethane for the simplicity but just a lighter weight with better drilled holes. It's the simple things that can make games better! now if I can just break 200 :P as my high is only 171!
@frenchfrey656 жыл бұрын
just an fyi, i'm looking at bowling.com their highest priced ball is under $200 (even if full priced it would be under $300), maybe $1k if you got 5 balls but not just for 1. In fact in terms of equipment, it's not that expensive if you know where to get it. Sporting goods stores will have any needs covered from shoes if you don't like the alley shoes, thumb tape, wrist bands, to yes bowling balls. it's a lot cheaper than golf that's for sure!
