I'm just now getting started on this. Had a driving job up in the mountains and my brake line broke coming around a mountain pass corner at 35-40 mph. Car oversteered on the turn making my rear passenger tire hit a boulder. Bent the trailing arm to the point that it was just hanging together and was about to snap in two, flat tire and some airbags deployed. Was looking into buying parts and getting it serviced but seeing this I think I'm headed to the junk yard to find a working lower trailing arm from another civic. Really appreciate it, helped me saved a lot of money for the holidays.

How do you know when you need a new lower control arm? When you feel a sudden thud over a bump? I have new shock absorbers but..I feel a sudden thud every time I go over the littlest bump

I have a 8th gen and the rear trailing arm looks identical. My problem is the camber bolt/rear trailing adjust bolt is seized in place. Nuts are off but the actual bolt is seized to the bushing. Do I have to cut it out and replace the trailing arm? Is there anyway to remove it without having to drop the whole trialing arm?

Cut the bolt on both sides then use a punch or press to remove the bolt. If it doesnt come out then u will be stuck buying a new arm

My issue is it looks like that washer that’s is oblong shaped isn’t in the correct place .. thus one of my rear wheels has a lot of camber. I want to loosen it and re-orient that washer / bolt thing. I have a 2010 civic… not a lot of video / info on this

@@bradlyfan firestone get the lifetime alignment for 225$. Never pay again for that vin number. They will tell u everything u need.

@@FatGuyBuilds my only issue with lifetime stuff .. is I did that with my dc2 or dc4 integra .. and people crashed Into those, so I feel like it’s bad luck. I might do that tho. If they can’t fix the camber with just an alignment I’ll get adjustable upper control arms and try again. It’s better to pay for a lifetime alignment vs 2 separate alignments.

@@bradlyfan i got 13 alignments for 225 on my focus. You should get an alignment whenever u get new tires... Whenever u replace any suspension part...

you might have already found it but you can use dorman part number 526-237 and 526-238 for the left and the right

I have an issue and i hope someone can help me , my lower controle arm felt off from one side , the side of the rocker panel and when i looked at it it seems that this area os super rusty noting left so how do i fix it ?
