i mean it's a mandatory showdown if a player is all in, so he had to show his hand anyway, just in tournaments though, if it's cash game then you should be able to muck your hand whenever you want.
@antzooma
@antzooma 3 жыл бұрын
actually i read the situation as he was checking if the bet covered him because he has to raise with the nuts or get a penalty, but yes also he has to show anyway
@hankwu5133
@hankwu5133 3 жыл бұрын
ant! You don’t have to raise if you have the nuts when you’re first to act. You only raise with the nuts when you’re in position, but yeah if the guy puts him all in then he doesn’t have the opportunity to raise
@hankwu5133
@hankwu5133 3 жыл бұрын
ant! I’m not saying you check call with the nuts, I’m saying if the guy in position didn’t bet all in then the guy with quads would have to raise 100%. What I was saying is if you’re first to act but you have the nuts, it’s not mandatory for you to go all in. But if you’re second to act with the nuts, you have to bet every time

@@jman1749 That's exactly it, I don't remember exactly but I'd have to imagine Deeb would've been at least, what, a top 20 stack in the room? Maybe top 30? Approaching the bubble, a player of his calibre in such a position, he would've been primed for a deep run. And for me what's most remarkable is how well he took it, I may have ripped my 2 aces in half lol

It’s all about the player you’re playing though. That Menezes is as quiet as a door mouse, plays next to 0 hands, only raises with strength and only 4bets when he absolutely has it 🤷🏻‍♂️ Barnhart had been playing with him for long enough on that table to know he doesn’t step out of line. Some players it’s an easy call but others like this guy, it’s a fold. Tough but true..

Why would the guy with AA show? Giving your opponent a massive confidence boost for correctly making a hero lay down is about the worst thing you could do. Muck your hand and say you had AQ or 10’s if asked is the way to go. I get that sometimes showing your hand can be advantageous, but this might be the all time worst example I’ve seen of showing. Giving your opponent a huge ego and confidence lift for no reason is just plain dumb.
@BBraich05
@BBraich05 2 жыл бұрын
the person asking him to show was someone from the production team. since its at an outer table it was only going to be used in the program if he agrees to show his hand. So basically showing his hand got him on tv. but yes, i agree, if you there to win you should not be doing that

I've been in that situation (folding KK PF) many times, and trust me, it's sickening. If the guy does show, you get a sense of relief, but it's not like you won the hand. Your kings got cracked, just not in the usual way. If you think about it later on, you do give yourself a little pat on the back, but it's not an actual win, which is what you needed.

I remember watching that Deeb vs Heinzelman hand years ago, really angry at how much of a donk play it was by Heinzelman. Since having a bit more experience and knowing the players though, I totally get Heinzelman’s thought process in this hand. Deeb’s on the button and he re-raised. Knowing Deeb, from the small amount of games I’ve seen him play, this generally means he’s taking charge of the pot and could easily have a J10s or another pretty hand, disguised as a big hand. He also makes it look like that when he re-pops Heinzelman’s re-raise as he wants to maintain strength. At this point it’s either AA or a bluff and there are tons more bluffs that can be held here on the button by Deeb. So I get the all in. Not today though Sir 🙅🏽‍♂️
