I appreciate all of your efforts making these Altima videos. My 2016 with almost 78,000 miles is humming along. I do 5k oil changes and also drain and fill the CVT every 12 months, about 10,000 to 12,000 miles. That might be overkill, but my CVT has never given me a problem. On this repair, it sure would have been easier if another inner fender liner panel could have been removed to help with access. I think if I need to replace one, I'll do all 3 right away. Thanks again!

I thought resistance of 7.8 ohm and plunger movement and clicking noise was same for both the solenoids and replacing with a new may not going to fix the problem. I am glad you changed and proved me wrong. Based on manual, I would not have changed the part. Thanks, and glad to see your went over 210K.

Yea most definitely. And that’s basically what i wanted to touch base on. Both with this VVT & the exhaust VVT for the P0014 I did the video for…..basically they both tested out almost fine, but nonetheless were indeed both the issue. I just believe they get stuck. As you can see in both videos even though the plungers seemed almost fine in both, but they weren’t just quite as responsive as the new ones. But thanks for the comment!

Your videos are top tier and have helped me so much! Will you or do you ever plan on doing a coolant/radiator flush video for the Altima? I know that’s probably a super easy & basic thing to do, but I can’t find any dedicated thorough video for an Altima. I’m close to 140k miles & have never had it done. I’m sure it’d be good to replace it for the longevity of the car.

Hey man is there a way I can contact you for some pictures you could send me from under that Nissan Altima, my altima is missing a small 2 inch cover that exposes the inside of my cvt but there is no issues with it its just that it makes noise from it when I start it. Been looking through Nissan parts and cant find it, I just want to see if mine is missing that small cover, or all 2013-15 Altima's are like that. Thank you.

Great job!!!😊 Have you considered leaving the connector on and then removing it after you take the VVVT solenoid out, to make it easier to disconnect and reconnect? If the length of the wiring harness will allow it? Anyway, excellent teaching video!!!
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee Жыл бұрын
Appreciate the comment! And i didn’t try that on the particular sensor because i felt like it would block me a bit trying to remove the 10mm with the harness connected. But it can be done im sure. I did the p0014 front sensor as well (video on channel) and I didn’t have nearly as much fight with that harness as i did this one so I approached this the same way.

I’m having this same problem with my 2015 Nissan Altima. Mechanic says he changed the solenoid and it still runs rough and stalls. Did you take the car to a Nissan dealer for service to have them do a diagnostic check? I’m at a lost on what to do being I’m not a car guy and am just going by what this mechanic is saying

Naaa i do my own diagnosis with an OBDII scanner & live data. I would take it to someone else and have the live data reviewed so it can be accurately diagnosed eliminating any guess work.

Do you need to drain the oil when doing this? Just wondering if oil is gonna come pouring out on my face when I take the solenoid out lol
@TheOriginalBeeCee

Naaa no need to drain oil. I would have mentioned it if it was needed. You will get some drippage though, but nothing crazy.

Hey, gonna change the 3 VVTs next week, I'm just worried about Dorman quality for this VVTs. Do you have any update if those changed VVTs are still working? Dorman reviews online are very bad...

@@TheOriginalBeeCee I was riding in the back seat of my daughters 2018 Altima an it sounded like I was in a small engine airplane. It seems to get louder as she accelerated to speed but I couldn’t tell if it was an exhaust issue or wheel bearing or?? Any thoughts?
