How did they remedy the exhaust smell? These explorers are notorious for getting exhaust gasses into the cabin

I'm not exactly sure. While driving it, there was no smell of exhaust gases in the cabin.

They put plugs and sealant in the rear cargo area, is what the tech told me when I took mine in for recall work

Correct. Some plugs were bad or not there. My 14 has never had the issue.

@@donthornthatfish2444 Thanks to everyone who replied. Could you please tell me what plugs are being mentioned? Mine is a 2013 and it has the smell unfortunately. I would like to take it apart and fix it myself

They are in the rear cargo area under the storage cutout. It was 2-3 plugs they put in, mine is a 2013 also and I have a 18 model also. They have not given me a issue at all that’s why I Bought a new model also.
