"In the event of a flat tire, please follow all the advance preparations and safety precautions in your Owner’s Manual.
Your spare tire tools can be found in one of two locations. In Crew Cab models the spare tire tools are located behind the rear bench seats and can be accessed by folding the rear bench seat cushion forward. Behind the seat cushion, you’ll find your vehicle’s jack and tools. The jack is secured in a holder; turn this piece counterclockwise to loosen the jack. This will release some tension on the jack so you can remove it. In King Cab models the spare tire tools are located in between the rear jump seats in a storage compartment. To access the jack and tools, unlock and remove the lid.
First, place the square end of the t-shaped rod into the end of the connecting rod. Then fit the square end of the connecting rod into the square hole of this wheel nut wrench to form a handle.
With your tools in hand, raise the tailgate and find this oval shaped opening just above the middle of the back bumper. Insert the T- shaped end of the jack rod through the opening and direct it toward the spare tire winch, which is directly above your spare tire. Slip the T-shaped end of the jack rod into the T-shaped opening of the tire winch. Apply pressure and turn the jack rod counterclockwise. The spare tire will begin to lower. When the spare tire is completely lowered, reach under and remove the retainer chain. Then slide the tire out.
Please see your Owner’s Manual for important safety information, system limitations and additional operating information.
