2015 Ski-Doo Summit (Gen3) Heated Visor Wiring Install

After searching for a simple video on how to install a "plug-and-play" wiring harness for a heated helmet shield, it became obvious that no such thing exists for the Gen3 Skidoos.
In this video, I show you how to install the Skidoo Heated Visor Kit (Part Number 860201234) on a 2015 Skidoo Summit X 800R. You may also need to purchase a Ferrite Kit (Part Number 515178088), if your sled is older than 2016, like mine, to ensure your heated shield does not interfere with the DESS Key system. I have a 2013 summit and I’ve been searching forever for diy vids on gen 3. You’re correct in that there’s nothing out there at all! Thanks for providing help

Anyone check if the supplied voltage to the harness plug is AC or DC? I assume AC for batteryless sleds but I would think the computer and display are DC. Not sure if there is a built in rec for those components or if there is a dedicated DC line for non-battery sleds and this connection is part of it. Good video. Planning on adding this item shortly after a fogged up ride last week!

What’s this ferrite kit thing? I can’t find any info on it, and dealers have no clue. What does it interfere with? My Bluetooth comms?

“It’s used to shield interference from electrical accessories that can interfere with your RF Dess key. Like the heated shield plug. If you install the heated visor plug to close to the RF DESS Post without the Ferrite kit you could have problems with your key. I believe all the 2016 and newer have this kit already on the sled. This is from the heated visor kit instructions--- SPECIAL INSTRUCTION Before installing this kit on any MY2015 E-TEC powered snowmobile, pleasemake sure that theFERRITE KIT was installed. REV-XM and REV-XS Models If FERRITE KIT was installed it can be found on the oil reservoir. REV-XR and Tundra Models If FERRITE KIT was installed it can be found on the left side between the vehicle harness and accessory wire. DESCRIPTION PART NUMBER FERRITE KIT 515 178 088 If needed refer toWARRANTY BULLETIN 2015-9 or 2015-10.” - taken straight out of the forums
