Great videos and great review! I shot a few bows and fell in love with the Carbon Defiant 34. As a big guy with a long draw length, this bow has exactly what I need to have a fast and incredibly accurate bow. Also, since the draw cycle is so incredibly smooth, I can easily shoot 80 lbs. I have one shipping out at the end of the year in buckskin! I really wanted to like the aluminum one as much because of price, but after shooting my Carbon Element for 4 years I am spoiled and cannot go back to aluminum now!

Great reviews Travis,and thanks for making them. I really like the CD34 and i am sure it will end up being my new bow, as i'm getting in to archery again after shoulders problems, i need a bow with a really smooth draw and i'll be trying 3D for the first time, just can't wait! ;)

Thanks for doing the best bow reviews on you tube Travis, you helped me decide Iam going to shoot my nitrum turbo again this year then upgrade to the carbon defiant 34. $2000$ For a bare bow is crazy! I think I'll wait

+Boats& Bows we retail the Carbon Defiant at 1449$for bare bow. If you can come into the shop or pic up from the shop we would be glad to work with you. We cannot unfortunately ship bows such as Hoyt's or Mathews due to our retailer contracts. So if you coming through the area or can come and pick it up physically we could sell to you.

would you say CD34 is a good hunting bow as far as stalking blinds tree stands and so fourth or something shorter...

Awesome review Travis, I only wished you shot some heavier arrows through the crony. I am shooting last years' Carbon Spyder ZT 34 with 525 grain arrows. It would be awesome to compare to two bows with the heavier arrow? I would've done it myself, but there is no Carbon Defiants in South Africa yet, I think this first order will come in the next month...

Danie Geel Bowhunting & Archery had both, Carbon Defiant is so much better on every level in my opinion. So many improvements on the carbon Defiants. I gave my carbon Spyder to a friend....

Travis, where and how can I get that gray Hoyt shirt you are wearing toward the end of the video. That's a sick shirt. I'm hoping it's not an exclusive.

Looking to do some archery as a hobby. I am totally new with this. Would you recommend this to beginners and amateurs?

+Walter O Walter, This Hoyt Carbon Defiant is an amazing bow!! As i always try to do i would say that it is alot of money to spend for a beginner. Having said that its one of the best bows out there and IS THE BEST and only TRUE CARBON riser design. if the extra money isnt an issue this bow is not only light quit and fast its super smooth and very forgiving. the aluminum model riser is the exact same bow as far as limbs and cams over all speed the diffrence is one riser is carbon $1449.00 and the other is alluminum riser. $1049.00

+Travis Smith That's awsome! I was looking to buy one and came across your very informative review. I shall consider the aluminum riser as well. Thank you so much for the advise. Mabuhay from the Philippines!

What draw weight do you like to shoot with?
@travthetrainer22
@travthetrainer22 5 жыл бұрын
tyler cross, it’s really personal preference. What works for one person doesn’t work for the next. I suggest what ever weight you are comfortable holding for 30 seconds to a min. The reason I say this is being able to hold on target for this amount of time is not necessary but it greatly increases your accuracy being able to control the bow for that amount of time. In the pnw I have had several instances where I have been at full draw for 30 seconds to 1 min waiting on an animal. Being able to control that allowed me to be able to make the shot even when situations like that occur.

Can you tell much difference between the carbon defiant 34 and aluminum defiant 34?
@travthetrainer22
@travthetrainer22 8 жыл бұрын
+Dcptcn643 Realistically that is hard to explain it just feels different to me there is less hand shock and vibration in the bow on the shot. but it can depend on how much weight you have on the bow for stabilization. i shoot the carbon and i will continue to shoot the carbon.
@rickm2647
@rickm2647 7 жыл бұрын
Dcptcn643 there is a TON of difference IMO. You just have to shoot one...and you will understand. ESPECIALLY if you shoot a carbon for a while then go back to an aluminum...the weight is the least noticeable difference to me. The stiffness, the way the bow feels on the shot, and the overall balance and sound of the bow. It is totally different. And the attempt at carbon from PSE and Bowtech is not even close. The Bowtech is just molded plastic with a little bit of carbon added...and the PSE...well it is a PSE....better than the blowup tech, but not a Hoyt.

Do you like the draw cycle better than the elite or ob's ? This looks like it may be my next target bow
@travthetrainer22
@travthetrainer22 8 жыл бұрын
+Jerodspc1 i have not gotten the chance to shoot the new Elites yet they will be arriving in our shop within the next couple weeks. i will make a review on the bows we get from Elite. I personally really like the DFX cam draw cycle its butter smooth from the beginning. it doesn't take any effort to initiate the draw and when it breaks over it is really smooth into a rock solid back wall.
