Good overview, but the portrayal of the 5th seat is deceptive due to the lighting shown. The battery would still run between the middle person's legs. I'm a happy owner of the 2013 Volt, but I was disappointed when I learned of this compromise for Gen 2. At best, the middle seat is for a child. Otherwise, Gen 2 improvements look great!

Thanks. You are correct about the seat. Bear in mind this is a two-minute video hitting the high spots. In a 25-minute sit-down interview with Andrew Farah and Pam Fletcher, Farah described the rear seat as a convenience measure. He said it is not as accommodating as one would expect from an SUV (obviously). We'd call it a compromise. At GM-Volt.com are posted at the bottom of the Volt article photos of the cutaway Volt GM has on display at Detroit. It shows the rear in far greater clarity. gm-volt.com/2015/01/12/2016-volt-seats-five-promises-50-miles-electric-range/
