From my vantage point you disgnosed it correctly. I had the same issue (rpm not zeroing out with engine stopped) on my mazda3... new (used) ecm solved that issue

Hi Dallas, you need to do a software update to the new PCM. Whenever you install a new PCM the software on it has to be updated. That is why you are getting those issues, the PCM is good, nothing is wrong with it.

Hi, I tried the update and the pcm was up to date. the only thing that needed an update was the ABS, which I did also update. I did not include that in the video because it made no change and just to make the video as short as possible.

you should've checked the speed of the wheels in the abs module, or looked for some kind of reset or special functions in the pcm, I don't think the pcm is bad, I don't even think the original is bad either

You are thinking correct. But why when i plug the original pcm it doesn't show what the new pcm showing. If a bad sensor should that be effecting both PCMs

yes make sense, but I am thinking to see what the computer see, where that signal is coming from? the speedometer showing zero. maybe the cluster is getting speed from transmission and pcm is getting it from abs, your logic is 100% plausible, I would be curious where that speed come from, بالتوفيق

This is why I don't do programming, just Electrical diagnostics, which is more difficult and skill oriented. Programming is for computer nerds that like to sit on their butt.

I was the same as you, but tgen you have to learn programming to finish a job. Customers like when one person can do it all. They want to deal with someone that can start the car for them no matter what it needs. Programming, keys, module repair etc.

@@DallasAutoDiag I understand and pretty much agree. However, l'm in a situation with such a high demand for the electrical diagnostics part that I don't have to deal with the rest. Perhaps someday I will and I'll be ready to do it.

@@joeandgod1 nothing beats diag. Every thing is replaceable except diag. Anyone can program, but not everyone can diag.
