Note on the Sonata plug-in hybrid's price -- As true of other plug-in cars, a federal tax credit is available. The credit dollar amount is dependent on battery size in kilowatt-hours. In this case, it is $4,919. Plus, where applicable, state incentives may also be available. These stand to help offset the $8,600 difference between base MSRP for plug-in vs. regular hybrid.

informative video, but one critique, the music in this video is much louder than the voice levels and made for a jarring transition. it really helps if the average audio level for the music and the narration are similar.

As you said it gives 40 MPG, if u charge it, and go 10-20 miles above a the ev only range, it will give u more like 80 using both the ev motor and the gas motor.

I tried the charge mode 1nce on a trip, it's energy consuming, I used almost 3/4 gallons of gas fully charging, it would be around the same cost to just drive on the gas engine.

Hyundai is having a problem, or should I say the consumer is having a problem, with these cars just stopping at random with no warning. Google it! It is a scary situation when it happens. Also, Hyundai is very slow at trying to diagnose the problem with long lead times and repair times and will NOT OFFER a rental car during the repair. Some of the cars are in the shop for weeks waiting for the problem to be fixed. So much for Hyundai reliability.

Hello Hyundai Hybrid Car Experts, I am considering a reliable, efficient, luxurious, practical, budget friendly hybrid (and possible plugin) to replace by 2008 high mileage high maintenance 5 series BMW. I know hybrids don't compare to the 300 hp power BMW, but I am willing to get a more reliable high mpg car since I drive a lot with a ride sharing company. Here is my question to if I buy a certified or low mileage (20K or less) used Hyundai Sonata Hybrid or Plug in Limited Model from Hyundai Dealership or CarMax would the 100K battery and powertrain warranty or any car manufacturer warranty be voided for the second owner? Is there still any kind of rebate for hybrids as a second owner that lives in Nevada? Is there an financial advantage to buying new, as I am not too hot about biting the depreciation cost? Thanks and appreciate your input. Future Hybrid owner

Only the original owner has a *lifetime* warranty on the battery. Only the original owner gets the rebates from the government. If your daily commute in normally at or under 27 miles, you can go long stretches of not adding gasoline. My wife drives hers that way. If you buy new, you have a longer ownership under warranty.
