3 bolts behind the primary have backed out making contact with your primary. That'd be my guess anyways. Pull primary, take each bolt out one at a time, red thread lock, and tighten. I don't have the torque specs, but I cranked mine down tight. Haven't had a problem since. All 2016 turbos I have seen do this btw. Hope this fixes it, let me know.

No they haven't. That video was when it was new. It now has well over 2500 miles on it and the primary has never been off and still on stock belt. I plan on pulling it before my next big ride to check them though. I knew about the loose bolt issue before I bought it. Never been able to get the primary off but I'm going to try a new trick this time. I was able to look at them with a borescope and they "looked ok".

my xp 4 turbo is doing this after 28 hours of use. What is it? I'm trying to determine if something is loose or if I should take it to the dealer for warranty.

If it is a 2016 you need to make sure the recall/service bulletin was done on the clutch. Other than that the noise is normal and you don't notice it with the cover on. I was just overly worried after reading all the stories on RZR Forum. Got read up there for more than you will ever need to know.

did you ever figure out what was making the noise ?

It is normal noise. I made this video when the machine was new. Over 3000 miles now and no issues. I did pull primary at about 2000 miles to check the 3 cover bolts behind it that are know to get lose and they were all in place but all fairly loose. I put high temp loctite and reinstalled them.
