I have a 2021 M240IX drive. I really love the car and it's all of what you describe and more. Only thing I wish was better would be a little more straight ahead stability. Car seems to wonder a little bit in the lane. Otherwise, I really do like it.

I was skeptical of getting an x drive platform but I’m in love with the characteristics with bmws AWD system. I’ve put 30k miles on my 2019 m240i. 2x better than the e90 m3 I upgraded from.

@@OleMisss How much smaller does the m240 feel compared to the e90? Sold my e92 m3 a while back and have been intrigued by the power numbers on these.

Sport Mode + takes off the AWD. I'm guessing the 4.2 is done in Sport Mode which allows AWD to stay on, but I'm not sure. Maybe you can override the default AWD off in Sport Mode +, that would be optimal. But I can see the warning light on the dash showing the AWD is off in your drive.

TheMarkcu24 It’s done with launch control..I’m using it on mine and you can achieve around 4.2 easily with launch control

You’re right. Sport mode is faster 0-60 than Sport + I’ve seen 3.9 in my 19’ m240i with just a jb4 tune and Intake

I understand the the RWD is more fun and cheaper..Depend where you live .I have 220D sport , would love the 240i but I rack up over 20K miles / year

Carl Price I'm sure the 220d is awesome. I wish we had more diesel options in the US. I own a diesel X5 and it is a beast. But the smaller diesels are so efficient and still generate great power.

Could be...I wonder if you pay more for the X models since they are built here! Either way my plan for my next car (BMW or Mercedes) is to do European Delivery so I can drive it all over Europe!

My M240i convertible was $94K delivered June this yr. The mrsp was $84K, the rest was orc, some options and our ridiculous 17% Australian luxury car tax. But no regrets whatsoever, really awesome fun car you never want to stop driving!

thumbs down, poor review you're not really sure whether you like it or not, complain about the price (it's a premium BMW) but love the car compare to another car not in the same class and we have to wait 3 minutes into a 10 minute, clip before you say a word about the actual car (you asked for comments)

You're right I did ask for comments and I appreciate your thoughts. I began talking about the car at 1:40 describing the different versions (230i vs m240i vs M2) but I guess that's almost 3 minutes LOL. I also talked about how I love the look of the exterior and the 18s, the interior was very comfortable including the M-sport steering wheel, and I said the 6-cyl is incredible in a car this small. And I'm not complaining about the price at all--just making the connection that for the money you can also buy a 5-series. It's not a comparison. It's something anyone considering this car realizes when they see a 5-series parked next to it on the dealer lot. BUT I said for the money you do get an awesome car with GREAT performance. If you own one it's an awesome car.
