The 2017 BMW R9T Pure is as fantastic as the other classic models. The Pure gives you clean slate with a palatable price tag.

I got my bike from a really friendly dealership who made things happen for me. No complaints. That being said I'm not buddy buddy with them. At the end of the day it's about making a deal and you're there to do what's best for your wallet not there to make friends. Any reputable dealership will provide you quality service if you're paying up regardless of you being "friends" or not. Going into the dealership with a very friendly demeanor will often times provoke those who have bad business ethics to take advantage of you. Be nice but don't pay for something you don't want to.

Just put down a deposit for a Pure. But I am customising it quite a lot - special fairing, seat, bars, new digital clocks, paint job etc. The final result will hopefully be a bit like the Racer - but with a much more relaxed riding position.

Please advise of the throttle response of this model. Is it smooth and progressive or is it sudden and a little snatchy? I rode one model, the rs I think, and the throttle was a little too sensitive or sudden for my taste. Which r9t had the smoothest throttle response?

Nice ride review. I wish I had more comfortable feeling in dealing with the BMW Motorcycle dealer that's just 3 miles from my house. After buying two bikes from them I just didn't like the way I was treated. They are the weakest point of my ownership experience. I consider the dealer where I bought my 2016 R, 210 miles away, to be my personal dealer. Hands down more professional to deal with and I saved almost $2k on the same bike. Plus the distant dealer got two referral sales through me when two of my friends went there to buy on my recommendation. Local dealer lost out big time because of their attitude.

Hell yeah. Triumph can't have all the cool stuff;)
Service and Sales are separate entities. You can get good sales yet shit service. So it shouldn't really matter where you buy it. The customer is paying the service department regardless regardless of priority. And if that is how your service department works, then you got issues.
@calmoto90737 жыл бұрын
It's true that each department is a separate profit center; that said, a good dealership will perform equally well in each department. That's why it behooves the buyer to do their due diligence and determine if they are happy to do business there.

No, I didn't get canned😇. There are several impediments hindering my content production at the moment; not the least, my current ennui with my own shtick. Papa needs a brand new bag! In addition to the easily remedied style dilemma, we no longer sell Triumph and my pool of the latest and greatest has been gutted. This too is a solvable issue, but requires me to work harder. Last, but not least, I've been dealing with and treating a very nasty and unforgiving disease that is trying it's best to kill me. So far I have exceeded my death date by a year and will continue to remain with the 10% that survive this brutal mother fucker of an illnesses😎. I'm not going anywhere, and will resume moto logging adaptation! Thank for the question and support. I guess this is something I've been needing to unload. Cheers my man!

You would be well served to find a better dealer, and develop some buying/selling skills. We deal with customers from time to time who bad mouth every dealership they've ever been to. It's always very evident who problem is. I don't mean to offend you, and I hope I didn't. Cheers.
@pengasus6 жыл бұрын
Cal Moto from my experience, bmw dealers are easier and friendlier to deal with. I bought many bikes and cars from random dealers over the years for me and the missus. 2 of them being BMW. Honestly, those were the only 2 times we didn't feel like we were being cornered to buy the machine or purchase some extra nonsense. Maybe it's the salesmanship policy for BMW dealers or just a coincidence but those were 2 seperate dealers. Rest of the dealers we've dealt with... even when i say i don't want to meet the aftersales person, i wont buy anything extra like fabric protection, paint protection or some other crap, they still bring the aftersales person. Every Single Time! Not BMW dealers though. They were even giving me a bike to use during the service, and considering i work nights, letting me keep it overnight so i could sleep during the day and return it in the morning after work to pick my bike. Seriously, that stuff makes me go back to a dealer; not the pushy sales pitch.
@axellevp75446 жыл бұрын
Hopelessand Forlorn Then you have not found the right dealer, keep looking. My local dealer I have been with for over 10 years...truly almost 12 now...and they had time to talk to me bi-weekly for about 4 months before my first purchase; I have purchased now 5 bikes from them. I would never go elsewhere. I walk in and they treat me like I am their only customer because we have a relationship of mutual respect and common passion - no one is kissing anyone's ass. It's worth it to go through a few bad eggs to find the dealership for you.

Excellent advice about making friends with your local dealer and talking to the techs. Spot on! I have purchased 3 bikes from my local dealer here in So Cal and I check in with them at least once a month. The sales office and techs treat me like family, I would never go anywhere else all because we built that relationship before my first purchase 10+ years ago. And this is an ugly bike...bleh....maybe better once customized.

$13500 is affordable? Is that the out the door price? I rented one today in Vegas and I do like the style , exhaust note, and nimble fun in the canyons. Heated grips are nice, so is the ABS, but If this bike was meant to compete with Harley in this sportster line up its gonna have to be sub $10000. Too many other brands in this area. Price and reliability are key factors also. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the bike, but not $13500 kinda love. 💀

"a cool bike, they're fun to ride, they're easy to ride, they're affordable" Calling a 12k or 15k bike "affordable" is pretty laughable, that's definitely the far high end of the spectrum for everything but the top-of-the line adventure/race/flagship bikes. I mean I'm a fan of this bike and about to buy a "Standard" r nine t but calling it affordable is pretty disingenuous.
@Kurnurs5 жыл бұрын
Holy shit overreaction much? Jesus christ lmao BMW has always been more of a "luxury" brand. I'm sorry you feel personally insulted by this. That wasn't my intent at all. Just pointing out there's tons of bikes that fit into the "affordable" category, this really isn't one of them. Something like a Yamaha FZ07 or something would be something most people would consider "affordable".

If you are going to buy one of these, get the regular R9T with the dual clocks and upgraded suspension and brakes, all 3 of those are NEEDED for new riders and all 3 are things very few people will upgrade that will be in the market for this bike.
