I just purchased one and it's fucking amazing to drive. Hitting 30 mph curves at 65-70 and powering out of them is just fun. It handles great and makes you want to enjoy the road. After finally getting one, I'm really confused by all the negative comments on this car.

People keep saying "more power, more power" but they don't realize that more power is going to drive the price of the car way up. It's meant to be an affordable, tuner-friendly car so you can add the power when you want it. It's not like this car can't handle more power. I've seen these cars with over 350 horsepower, which is absolutely insane for a car of this weight. If you had more power out of the factory, it would make it inaccessible to many people who this car markets itself to. It would easily go up to +34k. It's not a WRX. The WRX has more power, but it doesn't drive anything like the 86/BRZ. Even the base WRX costs more than the 86.

he put together a great dialog that covered several talking points that were specifically important to the type of people who are interested in this car. So many other reviews cover generic trade talking points that miss the entire point of the experience a unique car is trying to create. This guy nails a dialog with all the right content that align with what the car is meant to be and some people cant see past the way he speaks.

I think the idea of the car was to push driving experience which it does. Also as a bare-bones platform for tuning and customizing it's great. Because they made it affordable, certain things were sacrificed but I'm perfectly happy with that as they put their focus in the right places. The vehicle handles so well; what a chassy.

I got a 2017 model with only 9,000 miles on it , a great car for me ,a more conservative driver.. I’m very pleased and my friends and I like the suede accents in the interior. It’s shiny and black and not so easy to keep clean, but this is a dream to finally own a sports car..

I have the '13 FRS and it's still a joy to drive. As a daily that +6 second 0-60 doesn't really matter because speed limit in Portland is like 55 mph and drivers are slow in front of you lol. In stop and go traffic people who see my car just look in awe and wonder what it is.

This car is great for what it is. It is FUN to drive without the need of Gazillions of horsepower (if that's your cup of tea? Get yourself a Hellcat and shut up) do you really need a luxurious interior to make yourself feel special?this is a drivers car and thank God not another computer on wheels.

The cheap interior of the 86 really doesn't bug me at all. I've noticed that plenty of newer vehicles with soft-touch plastics on the dash tend not to age well and last in hot weather climates. I'm not saying hard plastic IS the way to, but some surfaces including some harder plastic will help the car to last longer, ESPECIALLY if said plastic is grained well and built well. And the suede? What's wrong with suede on the dash? Isn't that something most sports cars have had in the past and STILL have today? I'll take a little cost-cutting on the inside considering where the majority of the money was put on this car: the way it drives.

Goddamn I love my 86 - finally got me one paid in full after saving & catching public transport for YEARS. I hate when I get burned by Vespas at the lights in the city where I live but finding backroads every weekend makes up for that. My only other dislike is that the seatbelt isn't tailored for shorter drivers & is mounted a bit too high for my liking.

My old "77 Porsche 2.7 with 165 hp, was fast, truly fast, it would accelerate like a motorcycle going up hills. 200 hp in this car that weighs 2700 lbs. should be similar at least up to 130 mph or so. My '77 S coupe would top 150 mph easily.

Sufferin Succotash...... Toyota has 1000's of engineers and they still can't figure out how to put in the turbocharged WRX motor in this car. All it needs is 280 hp and turbo torque to be a winner and sell more cars then they are now
@chrgav1286
@chrgav1286 7 жыл бұрын
Belshizzle Bell 280 hp will increase the price to probably by 3-5k more but 220-230hp would be the sweet spot. It's not about the engineering but profit.

Have driven the car on a test drive and its good, not great. Unless you have a winding road around, you really won't appreciate this car's abilities. Honestly, for how most people drive and commute, a car like the Ford Fiesta ST, also around 200 HP, but much more torque, will be more fun to drive in most situations. And its $5k less to start
