I bought my wife a Cartier Tank for her birthday and was so impressed that I bought myself a Santos, the medium size which fits my wrist better than the large model. Had some reliability problems with my first one but the dealer replaced it, no questions asked. I love the curvature of the glass which gives the face dimension and clarity.

Received my new Cartier Santos (large model w/date) today. The bracelet has been described as Rolex & Audemars Piguet quality. I heartily agree. It’s substantive. The fit and finish on this timepiece can only be described as “haute joaillerie”. It’s fluid and elegant. The 2020 version has an upgraded deployment buckle with a spring loaded quick release built into it. The leather strap is now custom fitted at the “C” end of the buckle. It’s finished with a built in quick release spring bar. It’s a much more tailored approach than having to pull the strap under the buckle on both sides. Listening to the MC 1847 movement, while I wound it, revealed a quality resonance. This in house 23 jewel movement is much improved over the ETA 2894 in my Cartier Roadster. Though power reserve remains at 42 hours. Cartier goes high tech by using a QR Code allowing its customer to quickly scan and register the watch for its eight year warranty. Yes, 8 Years!

I purchased this one and love it. Regarding concerns about the size of the large model, because it's so thin it doesn't feel too large. To me it wears like a 42mm diameter round watch. Maybe too large for some...but not really that large. And regarding the date, the window is so small and white/silver matching the dial, that it isn't noticeable to anyone not wearing the watch. Sometimes we get a bit hung up on things when they are full screen on a computer and the reality is they really aren't noticeable in real life. The problem with the date window for me is that I can't read the date! Now that I'm in my mid-40s I finally appreciate the cyclops on my Rolex. Anyway, I love mine and also enjoyed this fantastic review which is excellent like all of his.

I tried this on at boutique expecting to fall in love the Rolex DJ 41mm, I tried on the Santos stainless steel and I was very impressed it stands out has a timeless look this will be my next watch.

That bracelet is off the charts amazing. Still think a JLC Reverso is for me, though I love the engineering here.

Two years after you posted this I got mine. Was VERY concerned that 39.8mm would be too small on my 19cm (7.5”) wrist. It’s not. For any bigger gents, it still looks great. Thanks for the review, Tim.

Love the tool-less bracelet, and comfortable lug to lug space.

Tried this on in Hawaii. I expected to appreciate it, but it not really be "for me." Boy was I wrong. Fit was incredible. It's on the list now.

The Magic Kings gave me in their day the 'Santos' Large, steel, leather strap and personalised clasp. Turning at the second !!! Good to be a Clon.

I just tried this on 30 mins ago. Comes with a tan strap that looks fantastic. Great watch. I preferred the size down with no date. Fab vid as always.

I love the watch and the bracelet. I love the ability to remove the bracelet and the ability to adjust the size. I just wish this didn't have a date. I also worry about the high polish bezel and getting it scratched. My favorite Cartier though.

I really love this new Cartier Santos! Tim, would you prefer this reference or the smaller WSSA0010 no date on your wrist? What's your personal opinion about the fit on your wrist? This one fit me perfectly, where the Santos 100 XL's giant square case corners bashed into the bump on the end of my wrist bone. Great demo of the bracelet take-down.

It looks surprisingly good on your wrist knowing that you have a 6’ wrist.

No half links nor micro adjustments though. That's why I ended up selling my Medium size one. It was either too tight or way too loose.

Nice review again, thanks. This is a fantastic watch. Too bad Cartier did not make the smaller xxx010 a little larger and this one sometimes looks too big, But I just love the screws. Iconic timeless style. I was about to buy the Galbee XL some years ago, but felt it was a little too small (35mm) for my 17+cm wrist. I am deciding for this model now.

I wish they had display case back. It's my only gripe.

Thank you Tim for another great review, your the man. I have had the good fortune to picked up the a white dial large stainless Santos recently. I just don't know of another watch , which is more iconic, absolutely versatile, and more value packed than the large Santos. I own a DJ41 and ceramic 40mm sub, which both experiencing less wrist time after aquiring the Santos.All three of those watches are equally iconic, however the Santos large is half the price of either of my Rolexes. Cheers

I do not recognize the case usually the back of the case is "CONICAL" the autonomy is 1 : 1 hours, very small brilliant small movement.
